Scotland for the beauty and the language, which I already know. Portugal for warmth and also beauty, but I'd have to learn a new language.
That's based on the countries I visited so far. I'm sure there are many other amazing places to live... oh well, we'll stick to vacations for now!

Haha, yes the accent takes some getting used to, but I think that can be said for many places. Atleast it's distinctive ;-)
I've never been to England or Wales before, those are still destinations on my to visit list!
Accents are very distinctive in some places, including lots in UK ie. north and south.

You don't honestly want to live in Scotland! The damp is hellish on the bones here in Winter!! Stay on the Euro mainland with Portugal @playfulfoodie and you'll be just fine :D
But if money is no object, a manor house with househelp in Skye will be fine :)
The Winters can be very windy there!! YIKES!!
A manor house with good heating can surely withstand all that wind...don't go out and enjoy the view ;)

Why would I have to decide for only one place?! If money is no objective, I could help out in different communities, learn from the people and the land, enjoy the hospitality, the food and the wine and then move on. Back home to the Rhine Valley where I live, wehre my home is or to another place, like La Palma, Cameroon, California, Kauai (Hawaii), La Gomera, Sulawesi, I don't know.
Correct. That is why I chose two places :) Hawaii is a close third for me @holgermarkgraf
Iceland definitely.
I love the desolation of Iceland @libert ... it reminds me of Shetland and the Faroe Islands ... but to a whole other level!

You don't need much money in the Philippines @mindhunter..just a medical insurance :)
I had FULL TRAVEL INSURANCE on Cebu Island as I was diving offshore 24-7! I absolutely loved it!! The best diving resort outside of the Red Sea.
Really? I was told dumaguete got the best diving places in the Philippines ;)
What travel insurance did you get? Do you recommend it?
All of the Philippines is excellent for diving - its all down to personal choice after that really. I had a round the world ticket travel insurance with the extreme sports list tagged on to it: skiing, diving, bungee jumping etc ....

I would want to live where there is a beautiful view (water and mountains and gardens, please) but there has to be a community and friends - a home base with meaning. But then, since money as no object, I would also visit and live in places around the world for 2 and 3 months at a time.
