Nature Travel #11 | Tat Kuang Si Waterfall - 3 Tips that will help you in any waterfall

in #travel7 years ago

The most beautiful waterfall I've ever been is the Kuang Si Waterfall in Laos. Hopefully you will want to go there and feel the same as me. In this post I will try all my best to show you and give some advises, and if one day you go, you will no what to expect.

Even if you don't go to this waterfall I have some general tips that apply to any waterfall that you may or already been.

I went to Kuang Si by moto with a friend, but there is many buses and vans that can get you there, from Luang Prabang it's 30km. The way was beautiful, with rice fields and mountains and just chilling out and ridding the moto.

After some 40 min ride we arrive at the waterfall and the first thing we saw was a bunch of bears, yes bears!! In Fact it's a bear sanctuary where that rescue mistreated bears from all over Laos and rehabilitate them.

After passing the bears you will see the first few small waterfalls, I will show you some pictures and then I will tell you Tip N°1.

You think this is beautiful no? That this is where we should stay and take a bath, all this water jus waiting for us to get inside. You are lazy if you just stay at the first beautiful place that you see, that's what most people do though. So this first I admit, beautiful places, there is a bunch of people who just go to take pictures and then go away to the next. It is a well said tourist attraction, you don't want to stay there.

Tip N°1

- Always go in the waterfalls above

In my experience the waterfall that are above are the best ones. They have fewer people and so untouchable, you will have a better time of appreciation and fun.

Now you are thinking: This one might be good. I say no, go further and then if you don't like it you go back.

The first tip might be difficult so that lead directly to the second:

Tip N°2

- Never have an hour to go back

This tip is very important to the first one, if you don't have time to know the place you will never do it. That's why you need to be independent or at least have a lot of time with you, two hours is not enough. The bad way of going to a place like this is with a tourist excursion or with a van that have a limit time to go back.

If you follow tip n°1 you will find out that the best places are not for all the public, if you are not used to this type of way is better for you to just stay in the tourist "comfort zone", but you will have to do it sometime.

TIP N°3

- Be with someone you like

If you do all that, it will not be worth it if you're not with someone you like . It's better be alone than in bad company.

If you follow my simple tips you will find yourself in a place like this:

Just looking dow and seeing all this mass tourist made me wonder... There is probably someone looking me from above thinking the same thing. But the moral of the history is not always look for something better, is be happy with what you have found... and I was. 😁
