Attractions of Sapa #4 The Tram Ton Pass
The Tram Ton Pass is arguably one of Vietnam’s most spectacular attractions. This stunningly beautiful mountain pass forms part of the road that runs between Sapa Town and Lai Chau. About 10 miles from Sapa town the road climbs into the mountains and enters The Tram Ton Pass, at 6250 feet, this is the highest mountain pass in the country. It runs along the northern side of Mount Fansipan, which is the highest mountain in Southeast Asia.
There is much to see and do here. En route to the pass, make sure to stop off at the Thac Bac Waterfall, a truly spectacular falls surrounded by astonishingly beautiful scenery. It is worth noting that even if it is cold and misty in Sapa, you can still be rewarded with marvellous views on the pass. The weather here is different than inn Sapa town; quite often it is also warmer.
And speaking of the views, there are remarkable. This truly is the top of the world here. The valley runs away from your sight with high mountains on either side. Cloud topped and magnificently green, this is one of the most scenically amazing places in all of Southeast Asia.

Super beautiful! I once traveled from Dien Bien Phu to Hanoi across the mountains in the winter. Even though its Vietnam, it was just slightly above zero degrees celsius but the view was amazing. Makes me wanna go again!:-)
