Attractions of Halong Bay #8 Bai Chay Beach

Bai Chay Beach is a resort in northern Vietnam in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Halong Bay. The bay is a spectacular place, winner of many awards and officially recognised as one of “The Seven Natural Wonders of The World”. The town of Bai Chay together with Hon Gai are collectively known as Halong City.

Bai Chay Beach, Nice place to spend a few hours

The beach is a third of a mile strip of artificial beach that slopes down gently to the sea. Its purpose, it has to be said is something of a mystery. This is not the best part of Halong Bay by any stretch of the imagination. Bai Chay has restaurants and hotels for sure, it is joined to the business area of halong City by the impressive Bai Chay Bridge. However in all truth this is merely an embarkation point for people taking a cruise boat in Halong Bay itself.

If you find yourself here with a day to kill then it is worth resting up in one of the many hotels and hitting the beach, but you would make better use of your time by getting on a Halong Bay cruise and really living the high life. If the weather turns in the monsoon season and boat trips are cancelled, you could well end up here for a couple of days.
