Our Journey to Koh Kradan Island - Day 3 of 5 : Trang to Koh Mook Island...!!
On Day 3..... We have survived the 18 hour train ride from Bangkok to Trang and the 2 hour Van ride to the Andaman Sea Pier. Finally we arrive at the pier after a very pleasant van ride through the mountain ranges of Trang. The pier seemed no different to any other pier in Thailand always full of confusion and people running around as if they are lost but we managed to be directed onto our actually boat that was going to take us across to Koh Mook Island. This was no fancy P&O Cruise Liner just looked like a old wooden fisherman's Thai style boat but we were use to seeing this in Thailand as long as it had life jackets on board i was in no panic.
Check this out for you fishing fanatics out there a fishing boat had just pulled up at the pier with a healthy catch of sword fish while we were waiting to board what a feast, straight out of the Andaman Sea....Nice and Fresh.
Of we went in our wooden boat into the Andaman Sea we were on our way to our destination Koh Mook Island quite a few dark rain clouds following us but they didn't seem to pose a threat the day was young and it was warming up. We passed a very small island called Koh Mook Sivalai Beach Resort it looked absolutely amazing you could see the long stretch of pure white sands from the distance, would have loved to spent one night at this paradise resort it's probably all i would of be able to afford by the looks of it.
Koh Mook Sivalai Beach Resort absolutely stunning with Koh Mook Island in the background is not the one we were staying at maybe next time.....hehe...!!
Enjoyed out scenic boat ride across the waters of the Andaman Sea actually turned out to be quite a smooth ride considering the looks of the old wooden boat. Approaching Koh Mook Island was looking pretty hilly and lush green mountains. The rain clouds were still with us but still they were keeping the rain waters to them self's.
Little motor bike golf carts were available at the Koh Mook pier at a small fee of ( $1 US ) to take us over the hill to our Bungalows.
Koh Mook Charlie Beach Resort is the resort we had booked not surrounded by blue waters and white sandy beach like Koh Mook Sivalai Beach Resort but we had the lush green tropical forest and white sand beach over the other side with a pretty cool cocktail bar that we had heard mixed the best cocktails on the island and of course the best views of the evening sunset all there waiting for us.
The Couples Bungalow...Pretty neat with air-conditioning cost ( $30 US p/ night )
I decided to take the Thai Style Bachelor Bungalow for ( $20 US p/night ) closer to the waterfront and closer to the bar for obvious reasons i wouldn't have to stagger home to far...!!
All checked in and feeling relaxed it was time to hit the Chill-out-Bar we were told they make the best cocktail mixes right by the beach and they weren't wrong i think we tried just about every mix they had available. Was certainly nice to relax by the beach after such a effort getting here and so far it was all turning out to be worth while. Mixes ranged from $5 US to $10 US depending on your mix very fair prices i thought.
Well i am done writing for today we are going to sit here at our Chill-out -Bar and keep ordering these absolutely smashing cocktails to sunrise. Stay turned for Day 4 if i survive tonight.
