THE LIVING COAST-Part 2

Following on from my last post, which can be found here:

The Living Coast

here is the second part. I took so many photos I thought I would spread them over 2 posts.

Living Coasts is situated right on the very edge of the cliff and looks out over the sea. There is some great scenery, however, as the weather was so bad, I only took a couple of shots.

Im not sure if these two cheeky individuals were nesting, but we could get really close to them. They are called Inca Tern's.

As well as the birds, there are several mammals housed at living coasts.

This South American Fur Seal mother and pup were gorgeous! They seemed to be bickering all the time whilst they were sat on the rock.

This seal was absolutely gorgeous. When ever we moved, he chased us and was really playful.

When you go inside, you can see into the seal's tank and watch them swimming. So graceful.

Some of the views from the outside area are fantastic.

One of my personal favourites is the Asian Short Clawed Otter. They have two of them at Living Coast. They were asleep when we arrived but a little bit later on they were running around outdoors, although we didn't get to see them swim.

As well as the outside areas they have some amazing aquariums inside.

I took loads of pictures here but it was difficult due to the glass.

They had several Australian Fat-Bellied Seahorses. You can see where they get their name from.

There are several types of starfish there, this one is a spiny starfish.

There is a really cool crawl through area where you can see from underneath!

This last chap was really impressive. He didn't move much whilst we were there, although he did change position from one side of the tank to another when we were not looking!!

Living Coast also takes part in a lot of conservation work. Here we can see a campaign to highlight how long rubbish takes to break down in the sea. No more plastic bags!

This was an excellent day out, despite the weather being pretty bad. Approx half the site is outdoors, so if you visit in bad weather, be sure to dress appropriately!

Many thanks. They really were amazing. I was worried the pictures wouldn't come out well because of the weather but they are OK I think.

Superb shots.
