TRAVELING BY TRAIN TO CASCAIS | PORTUGAL

Hello friends of Steemit today I want to tell you about the last trip I made during my vacation in Portugal in 2013 it is Cascais, a beautiful village, full of trees and impeccable architecture, located northeast of Lisbon about 20km from the airport. I loved Cascais even before arriving, I went by train, or as it is called in Portugal: comboio, for me it was a new experience because I had never traveled by train before, only in underground subway. 

I sailed to Cascais from the Comboios station in Lisbon, it is as easy to access like another public transport as bus or metro, of course a little more expensive because it goes to more distant places and avoiding the dreaded traffic. The station is very large and each combo is identified with a number that indicates its destination, also they have a specific arrival and departure schedule which makes it very good to organize our trips. The best thing about traveling in comboio is to be able comfortably to enjoy the landscape that is being drawn as we go along.

                   

                   

I arrived to Cascais and I saw colorful streets, a great gastronomic offer and accommodation, it is also remarkable the large number of tourists who walk through its streets. Cascais has become one of the main tourist destinations in Portugal, since in this locality there are incredible beaches, famous even from the medieval times where members of the royal families of Portugal and Spain vacationed during the summer in this place.

                                                   

                                                   

                      

                      

Cascais also stands out for its imposing and well-kept architecture of Roman type, also highlighting great forts that were of great importance until the 19th century in the defense of Lisbon. In Cascais it is possible to carry out many activities such as visiting one of its many museums, walking along its beaches, exploring its picturesque streets and its huge harbor that adorns the Cascais coast with the most luxurious yachts of Portugal and even of Europe.

I had the opportunity to know one of its most famous beaches called "Praia da Rainha" or in its name in english Queen´s Beach, it is very nice although for the autumn season I went it was impossible to even think about sticking a finger because it was cold, however, I was able to visit it and enjoy the beautiful cafes that surround it, as well as live music from some of these places that makes it very attractive to tourism regardless of the season of the year in which it is located.

                    

                    

When you are in Lisbon do not lost the opportunity to know Cascais, a very beautiful, quiet and very easy to go by any kind of transport, if you go in the summer months you can surely enjoy its coast and its beautiful blue skies that match with the colorful streets and all its tourists fall in love.
