How I travelled across Australian desert with three hours’ notice and blind faith pt.2

After what one would consider a slap to the face of reality, we were pulled over by the police, who completely invaded on our rights and freedoms and pulled everything out from our crammed car, left on the side of the road for 2 hours waiting as they invaded our sleep time,

With no authority just blind power,

After this minor pit stop, we continued ahead.

Dreary and exhausted from a long 6 hour drive, we found a beautiful spot along the road and set up the swags and passed out to striking melodies.

Journal Entry 1/11/17 Day 2 West Coast to Alice Springs

“After what one could consider a true challenge, being held up in town on the side of the road with four fellow rainbowers, being told what we could and couldn’t do,

Realising the four of us had been brought together for a reason, talking about the dynamics of relationships and being the drivers of our lives. Expressing the character we all have and the light we direct and shine. You will laugh about that car, <<< (small cheeky intuitive thoughts) and so I did, this big beetle hatchback drove past in the other direction, five minutes later.

The cars hot and sweaty, all of us are stuffed into this small Ute, the expedition calls stronger. The dry air hitting my face as I watch the changing landscapes float by with the road. I’ve noticed a few emotional blockages that have held me back with my expression. The sadness that has peaked through the cracks.

Yet I’m filled with a big smile. It may take me a while, bring back your inner child, watch the miles clock up, take stock, watch and seek, your feathers are grand, raise them to the sun. Enlighten the paths you cover, fill the contrast to the transition. Let these verbs pull words from your soul. Because kid you’ve finally grasped the controls
Know you’re glowing. Everyone in this car serves a purpose to the path your leading. Music has the ability to emotionally trigger. Memories from your past. Jarrah will have loads to share the next time you speak.

The point of no return. I finally passed Kalgoorlie, we stopped off in this rich dessert town to pick up a few things, it was boiling, and we began to feel the true heat of the desert that was awaiting. Well I guess the reality of this trip is beginning to materialise. Talk of 1000km dirt road all the way to Uluru in the northern territory. What could be in this waterless ocean? New species of opportunities arising”

We were offered two options, to travel north east, save ourselves 2000km of sealed road or travel deep into the unknown and go through the path least traveled and go far beyond our comfort. We decided to take the risky rewarding path the red road.

To Laverton we pushed on, the edge of safety. The crows had a raspy nature to their voice here, the harsh climate began to take control of the desert plane and the bushes got smaller and further apart. We pushed on.

Let me know in the comments below if you want me to reach out to anyone of the convoy for questions, also. A question for you. What’s the craziest, place you’ve put yourself in? Either a physical location or moment in your life.

It will really help me to travel across the Australian desert. I'm planning to visit Kalgoorlie. One thing I found fantastic about Kalgoorlie is the serenity with the mystery of the town. In fact, Kalgoorlie is a typical mining town but they have a Super Pit - read more to check more about Kalgoorlie. A lot of other things you can explore thereby learning from the site. You can visit the site before planning a tour.
