Apuseni Mountains day 4, Lost World
After three days of visiting well known places from Apuseni Mountains:
- First day: Arieseni Area and Ionele Cave;
- Second day: Scarisoara Ice Cave;
- Third day: Ruginoasa Pit and Bears Cave;
On forth day we visit Lost World (Lumea Pierduta) , and definitely this was a Lost World because in this area we didn't met any human, even if the place is beautiful and different.
Basically, the Lost World from Apuseni Mountains it's a wild forest with some big potholes which looks like portals between our world and a Lost World from underground.
Underground are a lots of galleries(caves) made by the rivers in last 2 milions years and from time to time some ceilings of the caves fall down and create these big potholes.
In the Lost World there are 4 big potholes, but also are many others smaller. For this reason is very recommended to follow the marked path.
Covered Pothole (Avenul Acoperit) is not so spectacular but it's uncommon pothole because it's partial fall down. But inside, where only speleologists can go, it's awesome.
Black Pothole ( Avenul Negru) is the biggest pothole from Lost World. It has around 108 meters deep and 50 meters diameter.
Gemanata Pothole is not the biggest pothole but is the most beautiful one. It has around 100 meters deep and 20 meters diameter. Over it is an natural bridge (do not climb on it, it's very dangerous). Another interesting thing is that the Gemanata Pothole has a gallery that reach Black Pothole.
The last one and the small one is Pionierului Pothole it has around 10 meters deep and 10 meters diameter.
Also during the travel I found some beautiful forms of life, as you can see in next pictures:
