Apuseni Mountains day 2, Scarisoara Ice Cave
Hello again! In the second day we decided to go to Scarisoara Ice Cave.
In the first day I wrote about Arieșeni area, you can read it here: https://steemit.com/travel/@djvidov/apuseni-mountains-day-1-some-visits-close-to-arieseni
I wasn't able to wrote last two days because internet connection doesn't help me. :-)
Scarisoara Ice Cave houses the first biggest underground glacier in Romania and second biggest underground glacier in south-eastern Europe.
In order to get the Scarisoara Ice Cave you should drive to Scarisoara Hostel via Garda de Sus. But also You can walk ( that took us almost 2 hours).
Also during the walk we found many places with flowers and some insects, but also a small and inofensive snake.
1. Apple tree with flowers.
2. Liliac tree.
3. Kind of wild peony:
4. Heart's ease.
5. Two types of mushrooms:
6. Lady Bug
7. Naparca snake
Scarisoara Ice Cave it's a vertical cave, and as you will see in the next posts, vertical caves are very common in Apuseni Mountains.
It is around 30-40 meters underground.
The block of ice has over 30 meters high and it has over 10000 years.
And I forgot to tell you, this is one of the most important places to visit in Apuseni Mountains.
Enjoy travelling!
