Most of the musang king sold are normally round or at best slightly oval shape. I seldom see a "rugby ball shape" as you can witness from the pictures in this article.

Generally speaking, Musang King durian is one of the most sorts after spices of all the durian spices by the local as well as a foreigner who resides in Malaysia. The main characteristic of a Musang King durian has thick and deep yellow flesh with small and flat seed. The thorns are wide and far apart from each other. and a star-like pattern mark is very obvious at the bottom of the fruit.
