Travel - Gargoyles of France
While in France, I was fascinated by the variety of gargoyles and carved figures that appeared on the sides of the historic chateaus and other buildings. Some of the carvings were decorative, but gargoyles typically hid drainage that prevented water from running down the side of the stone walls of the chateaus and castles. Here are a few of my favorites.
The first one was very different than most I saw, some type of person that seemed to be quite upset about something.
Most were mythical animals of some sort standing guard and ready to pounce on anyone approaching the wall.
This last one reminded me of Shrek, the funny ogre from the Disney movies.

Your gargoyle shots are fantastic. I've never seen a gargoyle-like structure of a PERSON! And yes he does look extremely distressed.
Thanks. I’d love to know the story behind those.
Those are frig'n awesome!
Thanks!

They are really beautiful. I have never been in Paris, but it surely is a terrific landscape. The
gargoyles were on low spots on the building or you zoomed in to take those photographs?
I really liked your post. Best regards.

They were all very high up on the buildings so I had to zoom in or shoot out of the upper windows. Thanks for your support!
