Devil Heads disturbing Czech Forest!
Hello steemians,
Devil Heads were created by Vaclav Levy in the mid 1800s and have been a local attraction for generations. They are located in the forest above the village of Želízy in Protected Landscape Area Kokořínsko in the Czech Republic. Now suffering slightly from the ravages of time and weather, the faces have grown less distinct over time, but no less disturbing. Have a great night and steem on!

Absolutely, therefore the name.....
Devil heads are cute though i guess is one of the finest natural art.
They are meant to be scary:)..... Glad you like it!
That is so interesting!
Would love to visit the country someday. We did try to spare the time while traveling around Europe in 2011, but alas we run out of time, darn it.
In the future certainly will go there 👍👍👍
That would be fantastic! Plan 7 days so you can explore more than a capital city of Prague. 3 days in Prague are just great which leaves you 4 days to explore other parts of the country. Hope to see you soon:).... Tomas
Thank you for the suggestion!!
👍👍👍
Upvote. It is great reminder how one man can create a landmark which generations after him will admire.
You are absolutely right.... It is hard to imagine how hard some things must have been to make without the use of any modern equipment and the technology. Just hands and simple tools. A lot of hard work and dedication. Simply amazing!
I was there recently. One of the oldest Czech (and hence even European) geochaces is hidden just next to one of the faces. Speaking about that, if you are into geocaching, you simply have to visit the Czech Republic. I am sure that Tomas can prepare you a great route for that purpose.
That's great! Would be fantastic if you have some personal pictures to share here?
Good place to smoke a J
