@roadtrips Asian Sunday entry:

Yulong River, Yangshuo. Staying by the Yulong river in Yangshuo is so relaxing. The landscape is really amazing and in the evening when there are no bamboo rafts on the river you will have it for your own.

@betterthanhome Australian Monday entry:

Lamington National Park, Australia. Just recently we´ve spent a weekend in the Lamington Nationalpark in the Gold Coast hinterland. This shot isn´t from the Nationalpark but from our accommodation just a stone throw away. We had the perfect view on the sunset from or little cabin.

@vinceboisgard Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:

I've seen places you won't believe it exists and Indonesia is one of them. I loved hanging out in Uluwatu beach for the sunset, watching the last surfer in the water riding incredible waves as the sky turned into purple tones... Heaven definitely exist :)

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - African Wednesday week #64 - winner announcement!

@axeman African Wednesday entry:

Four. Pretty well known combination of one large and three small pyramids - a part of famous pyramids of Giza, Egypt. Shot at noontime, but quite cloudy winter day two years ago with a tele-photo lens. From the left you can see the city of Giza. Actually shot through the window of moving bus, so final result not so bad indeed. Enjoy the scenery :)

Beautiful panoramic view of the L.A. downtown from just below the iconic Hollywood Sign in the Griffith Park. Covering a total land area of staggering 1,740 ha, it is one of the largest city parks in the U.S. and possibly in the world too.

"Snag some swag!" A snapshot taken during the match between L.A. Lakers and Miami Heat at the Staples Center - the iconic multi-purpose arena in Downtown Los Angeles. Adjacent to the L.A. Live development, it is located next to the Los Angeles Convention Center complex along Figueroa Street. The arena opened on October 17, 1999, and is one of the major sporting facilities in the Greater Los Angeles Area.

Photo of the Washington Monument and the mirror pool at Washington D.C.. The Capitol is behind the obelisk, just a small part of it is visible in the image. I took this photo from the Lincoln memorial. The obelisk was the highest structure in the world when it was built in the second half of the XIX century.

Morning Light

I took this photo at a small mountain lake just as the sun was peeking over the mountains. Our summer afternoons here in Washington get fairly hot, but each night the temperatures drop considerably and we have cool evenings. As a result there is often fog on the lakes and as soon as the sun comes up and temperatures begin to rise, it burns off and dissipates. The sun beaming through the fog created these fabulous rays on this forest path above the lake.

Taken on our hike up to Kinney lake on Mount Robson in British-Columbia. We hiked almost 12km in the forest up to and around the lake that day. We had just finished a section of steep switchbacks in the trail, with the elevatin we were gaining we knew if only we could get a clearing in the trees, we would get an amazing view. We were well rewarded.

San Francisco is a hilly city, that's one thing it's famous for. The other thing of course are the many bridges in the area including the Golden Gate. When I was in San Franscisco, my friend took me around the city, doing the typical touristy things. I forgot the exact location here, but it was good view of the the Bay Area.

Mount Hood in the Sunset - Portland, Oregon

20160626_Pittock Mansion_080.jpg

This was taken on one of my last evenings in Portland so what can be better than a gorgeous Pacific Northwest sunset with Mount Hood soaked in pinks and oranges.

We can find castle everywhere… some more authentic than others. Here in Las Vegas, nothing authentic but still cool to see. The inside is also something else. Strange to find a family-oriented hotel in the gambling capital of the world.
