Winter in Washington. I took this photo several years ago from the bench above the river, near where I live. I am blessed with fabulous views like this each morning on my drive to work, and get to see the river, forests, and elements every morning and afternoon. The morning I took this photo was especially brilliant with a fresh coat of snow from the night before and a clear morning's sun burning through the fog. What an amazing wonder nature is!

Your entries need to be submitted by 8 AM Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.

Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. @amyalfatasya Asian Sunday entry:

A fish farm in Aceh Indonesia. I took this picture at sunset yesterday. For the people of Indonesia, this fish pond is to help the family economy. If you visit Aceh, you will get a lot of these fishponds.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Australian Monday week #61 - winner announcement!

@vinceboisgard Australian Monday entry:

Night walk around the Darling Harbour, while Sydney city sleeps it is good to walk around the place. Enjoying the calm of the night to rediscover the place shining under bright new light is very peaceful and beautiful. I would definitely recommend spending some time there to anyone.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans week #61 – winner announcement!

@liltammy Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:

This apocalyptic photo was taken on my favourite beach in Mexico - the Xpuha Beach aka heaven on Earth. It is a remote and beautiful beach with deep white powder sand, crystalline waters with rich marine life. Still relatively unknown, it is a tranquil beach with few people.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - African Wednesday week #61 - winner announcement!

@jpphotography African Wednesday entry:

Sahara Sand Dune Sunset. Walking up this steep dune was pretty exhausting, but at the top I had left all other tourists behind. Watching the sun setting over the Sahara from this spot was one of the highlights of my trip to Morocco earlier this year.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - European Thursday week #61 - winner announcement!

@guchtere European Thursday entry:

Finally I think I've got a picture which is good enough for your contest. I've posted it already in one of my own posts. It's the picture from the waterfall Peričnik in Slovenia. This is a waterfall with a halfway basin and you can climb to the upper part of the fall. This part is a 20m drop approx, I think 🤔, the second part is around 50m. Let's enjoy for the last days till the winter kicks in those beautiful colors autumn gives to us.

Panoramic view of Los Angeles, California, as seen and captured from the Griffith Park with some opuntias in the foreground. You can also see the Griffith Observatory in the photo if you take a closer look. Hiking in the Griffith Park was definitely one of the highlights of my stay in this iconic American metropolis.

Great pic, I love the contrast between the plant in the foreground and the city far away in the background... And this line of clouds fit perfectly in the construction :)

Thanks man, means a lot coming from a photographer like you :)

Great shot! Unfortunately I missed this place during my stay...

Thanks! :) I am sure you will not miss it next time ;) It is a very charming place.

The fog was think early in the morning at Crater Lake National Park in Oregon. While we couldn't see the lake that didn't stop us from having a great time hiking in the fog. See whole post.

The Washington Monument and the mirror pool at Washington, DC. The memorial consists of the obelisk in the photo and the reflecting pool. At the other end of the pool there is the Lincoln Memorial. I took this photo in winter and it can be seen that the water of the pool was frozen.

Road to Vinales National Park, Cuba

Cuba is a destination popular for its cultural values, but the Caribbean island also has some great nature to offer. The town of Vinales and the national park of the same name are popular destinations in Western Cuba. I rented a bicycle for the day and explored the impressive karst formations.

Nice, I love the low angle! The perspectives are awesome :)

Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument
On our way to Albuquerque we passed this nice National Monument. We didn't heard much about it and just stopped there because we had some extra time to spend. But the small park was very beautiful and really surprised us.

Aurora

Driving home one evening I noticed what appeared to be spotlights shining up from the mountains. It took me only a couple seconds to realize that I was seeing Northern Lights, a rare sight here in North Idaho. I sped home to get my camera and drove across the road to the lake where I was able to see hues of red and pink. So beautiful!

Taken at Dawson Falls in Grey Wells Provincial Park, British-Columbia. We pretty much had the park to ourselves on a stormy day. Dawson Falls was just a few minutes hike from the parking lot so we didn't have to freeze for too long.

High Desert Beam
Upper Antelope Canyon is a marvelous place to see something unique.
The best time of year to see the light beams is mid day around and during the summer solstice when the sun moves directly overhead. Antelope Canyon is located in northern Arizona USA, just outside the city of Page.

This is the Jacques Cartier Bridge, located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was inaugurated in 1930, but is actual name was given in 1934 after a petition was made to change it in honor of Jacques Cartier, a French navigator who was the first European to explore the St. Lawrence River.

NYC by night, lights shining through the dark showing the city's skyline. The giants are shining, glowing like flying fireflys. This is the One World Trade Center tower, the highest building in the city shot from the Hudson River... Enjoy :)
