See the winner of the last week´s European Thursday @drmincu with the following entry:

The Apuseni are probably the wildest part of the Carpathians. Wild animals roam free in the natural reserves and man's touch is barely felt. And the nights are so dark that you can just lay down and gaze the milky way.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Asian Sunday week #97 - winner announcement!

@axeman Asian Sunday entry:

Abu Dhabi Highlights. Obviously Dubai is much more famous by it's skyscrapers architecture and mighty Burj Khalifa as a flagman. Though Abu Dhabi (actually the most richest Emirate) has a lot enough examples of stunning sky architecture as well. And really looking like some kind of spaceships at the starting place... Shot very close to sunset on a golden hour colors with up perspective giving a lot of vertical dynamics. Enjoy the scenery and the colors!

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Australian Monday week #97 – winner announcement!

@robbertb Australian Monday entry:

The majestic peak in the center of the photo is Aoraki or Mt Cook, New Zealand's highest mountain. It soars into the air an impressive 12.000 feet. This picture captures the vastness of the valley surrounded by mountain ranges. I love how the yellow brownish grass contrasts with the blue skies. The empty road finishes the shot.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – African Wednesday week #97 – winner announcement!

@jpphotography African Wednesday entry:

Sunrise over Sahara Dunes. Golden hour in the Sahara is beautiful: The light of the new day emphasises the shapes of the huge sand dunes and paints them in all kinds of yellow, orange and red tones.

Aerial view of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of Ta' Pinu, a majestic Roman Catholic minor basilica and national shrine located some 700 metres (2,300 ft) from the village of Għarb on the island of Gozo, the sister island of Malta.

We found this mountain creek when hiking in the Picos de Europa national park in northern Spain. Dipping into the crystal clear water was truly refreshing and relaxing at the moment. There are many hiking routes in the park, and you will be surrounded by gorgeous limestone massifs, lush pastures and spectacular lakes and brooks.

On a similar note seeing @phortun's entry, I will also pick to present today a picture from a basilica.

Don't know how special the place is for others but to me, it sure is - as it was my first time abroad and first time visiting something else than what my country has to offer. Sagrada Família was started by Antoni Gaudí in 1882 but not even today was finished due to the many details and unique style of building masterpieces. The estimated date when the work will be done is 2026 when there will also be celebrated 100 years since the architect died being hit very brutally by a tram.

There you go. I thought it was impossible to get the whole thing in one photo :D Great shot!

That's why I used GoPro during my travels :D The lens is very wide and it does a great job! :)

The Danube Delta is an archaic place. Vast reeds crossed by winding canals that change shape and location each year. Among them nestled is the small fishing village of Crișan. Here is what night in Crișan looks like :)

House at Lake Gjende, Norway

After a long hike over the Bessegen ridge, we descended back down to the beautiful Lake Gjende. We arrived just in time to catch the last ferry back to the start of the trek where we had set up our tent.

The Julian alps - Slovenia

During these years of adventure on this world of ours, I've been through many challenges; cycling the Julian alps during the winter was one of the toughest. High elevations, freezing temperatures and just a tent as shelter, those days can me remembered in pictures, but the feeling of being out there will never be translatable in any form.

I've been living for a couple of years near the Eau d'Heure lakes in Belgium. At that time I was working in Brussels and I had to drive early to get there in time. The photo was taken one of the mornings when passing one of the lakes. This was exactly why I had moved to that area.

Azulejo tiles are everywhere in Portugal. Here is the interior of a church in the Algarve region. The entire walls were covered in blue azulejo tiles. It was quite impressive.

Kew Gardens is a must see for everyone that visits London and likes nature. They claim they have the largest botanical collection in the world! These botanic gardens host an incredible amount of different environments and you could easily spend a day there if plants are your thing. Even if they're not, although is a little of the city centre... is well worth the visit!
