Hello fellow Steemians!
I am here with another round of my photo challenge where you can submit your personal images from your travels to Prague and other locations in the Czech Republic in the comment section below. I host this photo challenge twice a week - on Tuesday and Friday.
You can submit your entries in the current round from now until Tuesday, 6 AM (CET). Please, don’t forget to add a short background story for your entry with at least 30 words and let me just remind you one more time that only personal images will be accepted in the challenge.
The best 15 entries of the round will be rewarded with my upvote. I will also pick the absolute winner of the round from these 15 photos and reward him with an extra upvote on one of his recent posts published on the Steem blockchain. The winning photo will be also featured as the cover image for the next round of the photo challenge to give the author some more exposure and publicity.
There were many great entries submitted in the last round of the Prague/Czech Republic Photo Challenge and I had a hard time picking the absolute winner. After a deliberate consideration, however, I decided to choose the following entry by @nikolesa:
Kuks is a hospital from the 17th century situated in East Bohemia. At that time, it was mainly famous, because people believed that springs in this area had healing effects. Since 1946 is Kuks used as a museum of Czech pharmacy and baroque art.

Another shot taken at the Silver Lake, one of my favorite places in my Czech hometown. In fact, however, it is not a lake and it even has nothing to do with silver. It used to be a gypsum quarry that got flooded by the nearby River Opava in 1964. Gypsum is called “sadrovec” in the Czech language so the colloquial name of the place “Sadrak” is actually more fitting than the official name (Silver Lake).
A view of Prague in b&w. It can be seen the gothic towers of the Church of Our Lady before Týn, the Old Town Hall and the Powder Tower, it can also be seen some Baroque towers. At the background there is the impressive new TV tower of Prague.
Mácha´s Lake, Central Bohemia
It's just a pond. It was built in 1366 by Emperor Charles IV. Today it is the 8th largest pond in Bohemia. But it is a renowned holiday destination.
Already at the beginning of the 19th century there appeared tourists. Gradually their tide grew. In 1920 the town was acquired by the pond and consciously started to turn it into a tourist attraction. The name Great Pond (Velký rybník) was not attractive enough. National poet Karel Hynek Macha has been here six times. And so came the name Mácha´s Lake.
In today's hot weather an ideal place to relax.
For centuries people buy fresh vegetables and fruits at Zelny trh (Kraut Market) in Brno. There is a labyrinth of corridors under the surface which were created when walls between cellars were torn down. Now it is possible to make an exciting tour there.
Charles Bridge. On one of the pillars of the bridge is a knight, always near a cluster of tourists who want to capture the mysterious guard. The knight is the "keeper of Prague."
As legend has it, Brunswick rescued the king of beasts of a lion from a nine-headed dragon. Then on his coat of arms, he began to wear the image of a lion. After returning home, Brunswick buried his sword, reminiscent of how many lives, although he interrupted his enemies. But if the Czech Republic is in danger, he will dig his sword, wake King Wenceslas, and he will intervene for the people of Prague. Poetess Marina Tsvetaeva has a poem dedicated to this knight.
Jewish Quarter in Třebíč is included in the UNESCO world and natural heritage list. The former ghetto includes two synagogues and these kinds of small picturesque houses furiously stuck one to another. It´s definitely worth a visit.
