7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Asian Sunday week #91 - winner announcement!

@jpphotography Asian Sunday entry:

Hiking in Wadi Rum, Jordan. Many people visit Wadi Rum, the most beautiful desert of Jordan, only on a Jeep tour, but there are some beautiful, if hard to find treks. Since my shoes were soaked from a rainy morning in Amman, I decided to go for a walk in my flip-flops, but they broke on the way and I ended up scrambling over these rocks barefoot!

@vcclothing African Wednesday entry:

Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe is one of the natural world wonders and also the world's biggest waterfall. I took this shot when it was only at 20% water flow, so you could just imagine it at 100% water flow. Such an amazing place to visit.

I was inspired by the entry by @ajven here who posted a beautiful photo of the Azure Window, a former iconic natural landmark of the Maltese island of Gozo as well as all Malta. Here is my photo from the same place. I took it in spring of 2014 when I was living on the island.

Summer is arriving in the northern hemisphere and it is time to get the crops. This photo was taken in Warwickshire in England and it shows the bucolic English rural landscape. You can see an almost dead oak tree and the round hay bales, so common at this time of the year in the English fields. The sepia tone gives an interesting look to the image.

What makes so special this place is not that it's literally on the edge of my country (Romania) and from the peak I could see Ukraine, but the shape of the lake is also my country's shape, which I call a real bliss. :)

The Iezer Lake, Maramures, Romania.

Happy to see you here Gabriela! :) Stunning intro entry ;)

Thank you so much dear friend! :)

The Azure Window was 28 metres tall natural arch on the island of Gozo in Malta. It was major tourist attraction of the whole of Malta until it collapsed in strong storm on 8th March 2017. I was lucky to see this natural beauty at the end of 2016.

Úžasná fotka. Na Gozu jsem kdysi žil, Azure Window bylo kouzelné místo... Taky jsem sem na jeho počest dnes vložil podobný snímek.

Kde jsi tam žil? Mě nejvíc oslovilo městečko Xlendi, to má díky tomu zálivu a útesu neskutečnou atmosféru...

Žili jsme v Marsalfornu. Jo, Xlendi se mi taky líbilo, rádi jsme tam jezdili na výlety :)

Ohlalaa! 😍

Mount Tibidabo is a mountain in Barcelona, which is the highest point of the city is 512 meters above the sea level.
The top of the Tibidabo mountain majestically decorates the Church of the sacred Heart, the full name of the Expiatory temple of the sacred Heart of Jesus (Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor / Templo Expiatorio del Sagrado Corazon de Jesus), has already become one of the landmarks of Barcelona. And at the foot of the temple on top of a mountain and partly on the slope, is the namesake amusement Park and attractions (Parque de Atracciones Tibidabo).
Even if you are not a fan of religious shrines and amusement parks, to climb the mountain Tibidabo in Barcelona still stands.
First, near the temple and the Park is equipped with observation decks which offer stunning views of the entire city of Barcelona and surroundings, as well as the Mediterranean (Balearic) sea.

Split Archeological Park, Croatia

The Roman city centre of Split is certainly impressive, but the amount of tourists make it a crowded experience. Just a few kilometres away, an archeological park is located at the site of the former Roman settlement. In fact, today's center of Split only was the palace of the ruler of ancient Split in Roman times.

I have also posted this photo on my blog.

The highlight of Vilnius was for me the fantastic view from Gediminas castle hill, which is located in the heart of the city. Here you have a wonderful view of the sunset and can see the sun disappearing behind the skyscrapers of the newer districts.

The picture from a lovely Santorini in Greece. Oficial name of this island is Théra. This island is specific for the most famous city Oia where you can see typical white houses with blue roofs. Santorini has more churches than houses, donkeys than men and wine than water. Nice place for holiday :))

Sky Battles

Very fresh shot just from yesterday. After very hot day it is very often comes some rainy stormy front by evening time, just not for long, but very often with squall and lightning. Yesterday was actually very short rain, so was able to get few shot of the drama around.
Shot from the roof of tall building and you can see partially port of Klaipeda and moving ferry, while at the right and far away Klaipeda old city

Enjoy the scenery!

Tempio di San Biagio from Montepulciano, Italy. This impressive Renaissance church was built between 1518 and 1540 and is located in a field below the limestone ridge outside the Montepulciano walls.
