Lake Alpsee, Bavaria, Germany. Lake Alpsee is located near two beautiful castles in Bavaria - Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein. We arrived at Neuscchwanstein and decided to take a hike around the lake. It was fabulous. I walked down to the water. Water is crystal clear and a beautiful blue. You can also take very pleasant walk around the lake and visit these two castles. This area in Germany is simply amazing.

Memories from traveling in India. I've always wanted to go and see the Taj Mahal and so while renewing my Bangladeshi visa in India, I went to Agra to full-fill my ambition. I was stunned by the beauty of this monument... Enjoy.

@vinceboisgard Australian Monday entry:

Sunset sighting over Melbourne city. This was shot from St Kilda, a nice place to spend some time on the beach watching the sun slowly going down while the city burn of saturated colours. It is good to drink wine on the beach during summertime.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - African Wednesday week #67 - winner announcement!

@axeman African Wednesday entry:

Golden Dunes. Yet next view from Egypt. Pretty amazing panorama of the golden dunes of the Nile, nearby Aswan. Shot from small sailing boat while traveling to small and authentic Nubian village. Still hot, though winter day with even some nice cloud formations making the final view much more interesting. Enjoy it!

The Canary Islands dragon tree is a subtropical tree-like plant native to the Canary Islands. It is the natural symbol of the island of Tenerife, together with the blue chaffinch.

Thank you so much for your submission. Have a great weekend.

This peaceful lake with swans can be found just outside of the town of Skalica in Western Slovakia. Home to about 15,000 people, Skalica is a charming historic town with impressive architecture, vast vineyards and beautiful natural surroundings.

Location: Westminster Abbey, London. There isn´t much to say about the abbey. It is simply a London must. A gorgeous work of architecture full of history. Poet´s corner is a delight for literature fans. The inside and outside are completely breathtaking. There are plenty of notable names buried there, like Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, Stephen Hawking, Shakepeare and Charles Dickens.

View down the Preikestolen platform above the Lysefjord-fjord. The rock formation is about 600 meters above the sea level.
If you are traveling in Norway this highlight is definately a must visit destination.

Happy new year everybody! I took this shot the day after Christmas close to the town of Nafplio, in Greece, right next to Karathona beach. I am standing on Argolida and on the opposite side, around 30 km away is Arkadia.The sea in between is the Argolic Gulf.

That looks so peaceful. Happy New Year to you and your fams as well.

The freezing port

Taken out today from the deep deep archives. This shot was made in January 2014 when I actually only started my photographic journey from landscapes and so on... Quite a nostalgia
A very cold winter morning at the gates to the port of Klaipeda. Amazing colors of very humid and very cold air on sunrise
You can see nice port panorama with some vessels, portal cranes and some higher buildings of the city

Enjoy the view!

Today I want to share a picture of my hometown in the very south of Germany with you. I took it 2 weeks ago when I went home to spend Christmas with my parents.

Jurassic Coast
This beautiful scenery is part of the World Heritage Site. It is the coast you won't regret visiting. The path along the white cliffs is well maintained and offers an unforgettable experience of mother nature. The mighty waters look incredibly blue. It is fascinating to see waves come and go, gently touching the cliffs.

What a beautiful part of the coast.

In the city of Valencia, Spain, there's a celebration called Las Fallas, where incredible monuments are built during the year, and exposed at that time. They normally represent a situation, a person, or an event, in a satirical way; and the amount of work and details in each falla (those typical monuments) is just incredible. As a tradition, at the end of the festivities, almost all of these marterpices are burned! And heres how a falla looks like:

fallas1.jpg

That is pretty fascinating. It's very surprising to hear that almost all gets burned.

My thoughts exactly. Apparently, only the winning fallas escape. Here's what their fate looks like :)
