Today, you can participate by submitting your personal pictures from your travels to the continent of Africa.

See the winner of the last week´s African Wednesday @timothyallen with the following entry:

This photo was shot at a 'Gerewol' in a remote corner of Niger's Sahara desert near Lake Chad. A Gerewol is a gathering of nomadic Wodaabe people who come together for a few days and (amongst other things) dance together for many hours. This is a photo of one such dance at sunset.

The Temple of Kom Ombo is a temple located in Aswan, Egypt.
The building is unique because it was design for two sets of gods as the courts, halls, sanctuaries and rooms are all duplicated.
The southern half of the temple was dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek, god of fertility and creator of the world with Hathor and Khonsu.
The northern part of the temple was dedicated to the falcon god Haroeris.
Here, we can admire the center court of the northern part.

It never stops fascinating me what things were built without any technical advancements and tools. Thank you so much for your entry. Tomas

I shot this photo in the Central Africa Republic. The guy is called Mongonje and he is climbing the tree in search of a bees nest to take honey. To get this photo I had to climb the tree myself using ropes and then pull up the ropes from beneath me so that they weren't visible hanging in the picture. All in all I was hanging from the tree for about an hour and a half...

Wow, what one has to do to get that perfect shot! Tremendous!

Merzouga, Morocco
I took this picture about 20 minutes before the sun went down as the colors were perfect to capture them. The area is in Merzouga, Morocco (Sahara desert) - Amazing place!

That looks like somewhere on Mars. Great shot!

Thanks Tomas! Indeed , it does look like it, ha! :D

Chefchauen, the Blue City of Morocco

Here in Taipei, I have repeatedly seen a photo of a blue street in Chefchaouen on an advertisement poster by a tourist agency. I visited the beautiful Medina of this small town in Morocco earlier this year, but despite a few tour groups, I really enjoyed my visit.

Blue Mountains

Blue hour, the short time right after sunset. So called for the nice blue color of the sky, following the dawn. But in hot Hurghada, Egypt its appeared the air too much warm and sky still looks much more warm and colorful, while we have blue mountains instead...
Well, this is not bad as well. Shot with long tele-photo lens just hand held right at the entrance to our hotel to the opposite side from the sea coast

Enjoy the scenery :)

Love it! Well done!

During one of my tours in Namibia, I stopped at a waterhole in Etosha National Park. There was not a single animal to see at that waterhole. However, when I wanted to drive off, a large group of elephants approached and decided to take a bath in the waterhole. Weeks later, when I was scrolling through my photos, I realized that there were two elephants in this photo.

What a great capture. Well done!

Thank you so much for your participation.

When the sun begins to decline to make a big sleep, and yes, at sunset there is then a gradient of colors most splendid in the sky! From pink, to orange, through purple and red. A parade of all these colors that allows to have magical landscapes!

Try to take the time to contemplate a sunset in addition to the beautiful view that will be offered to you it will be conducive to a moment of relaxation!

South of Tunisia, Douz is an oasis nicknamed the "door of the Sahara", surrounded by the beautiful dunes of white sand and thin moving Nefzaoua.

Wow, what an amazing shot! Well done.

This is another perspective of a great view of the Indian Ocean from the East coast of Eastern Africa. Sun is getting low and the view is beautiful so enjoy it before the dark sets in and the lions come out!
