Realized around the year -2500, the Sphinx of Giza was sponsored by Djédefrê, one of the pharaohs of the 4th Dynasty and would be a representation of his father, Pharaoh Cheops. It welcomes visitors in front of the great pyramids of the Giza plateau in memory of the deceased.

Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. The winning picture of the daily challenge will then automatically enter other rounds with the absolute winner gaining approximately 200 Steem in total.

Looking at the dusk over the rain forest in Springbrook national park, Queensland Australia. Springbrook is a nice park to go hiking with a highly diverse fauna and flora. You can even observe glowing worms in the caves of the park.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans week #104 – winner announcement!

@jpphotography Tuesday of Antarctica and world's oceans entry:

Hill Inlet Lookout at Whitsunday Island, Australia. The spectacular hill inlet lookout on Whitehaven beach on Whitsunday Island is visited by many cruises departing from Airlie Beach. That was nothing for me, so when I found out that there is a national park campground at the beach, I took a ferry there, camped for a few days and swam through the Inlet with my camera in a waterproof bag early in the morning before the tourists arrived, taking in the panoramic views by myself.

We came across this oryx while on safari through Namibia.
I never knew much about oryx before, but after my trip to Africa they are now one of my favourite African animals!

Street in the "Blue City" Chefchaouen, Morocco

The mountain village Chefchaouen in Morocco was shaped by Jewish and Muslim immigrants who were expelled from Andalucia in the late 15th century, so it comes to no surprise that the Medina has a Spanish touch. Nowadays, it is most famous for its blue houses, but in fact, the blue paint has been added more recently.

The Bird of Alexandria

Early morning in Alexandria, Egypt. Shot just from the window of hotel with a sea view.
Early morning and interesting cloud formation in the sky. Do you see huge flying bird??? With a moon-eye???

Enjoy!

Mount Sinai, Egypt is a cool place to hike. I did it in the middle of the night to be able to see the sunrise. I did not see the landscape while climbing, but this vision in the morning was worth it.
