Hello fellow Steemians,

I hope you are all having a great day! :) As usually, I am here with my daily photo challenge where you can submit your personal images from your travels to Prague and other locations in the Czech Republic in the comment section below.

The best 15 entries of the day will get my upvote. I will then pick the absolute winner of the day from these 15 photos. The winning photo will be awarded with a bigger upvote and it will also be featured as the cover image for the challenge post the next day to give the author of the winning shot some more exposure and publicity.

Don’t forget to add a short background story for your entry with at least 30 words and let me just remind you one more time that only personal images will be accepted in the challenge.

There were many great entries submitted in the yesterday Prague/Czech Republic photo challenge and I had a hard time picking the best one. After a deliberate consideration, however, I decided to choose the following entry by @phortun:

I know the St. Vitus Cathedral (officially known as the Metropolitan Cathedral of Saints Vitus, Wenceslaus and Adalbert) has been featured in this challenge many times and it is absolutely understandable as it is one of the most iconic landmarks of Prague but as far as I remember, few of those shots actually showed the interiors of this majestic building. So let me make up for that with this image I took inside the cathedral in May 2016.

Slate ulička, also know as Golden Lane, runs along a short stretch inside the wall of the Prague castle complex. Alchemists, castle guards, writers lived there once upon a time. Now it is a human zoo during the day, but wait until just before nightfall when when the shopkeepers go home, the street is empty, and the entrance is free. That is when the magic happens. You have these picturesque houses all to yourself, and the street becomes alive with the lore of centuries past and the fairy tales in your imagination.

I think this might be the first time Golden Lane gets featured in the challenge. Great entry for today´s edition. Thank you for sharing. Tomas

Thank you! What a nice way to start the day. Makes up for me spilling coffee all over the kitchen this morning!

The Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul is located on the Petrov hill in the centre of the city of Brno in the Czech Republic. It is a national cultural monument and one of the most important pieces of architecture.

The Trabant is an old East German car that has become collectible item for some people. In Prague you can many of them on the streets and some of them they are used in an”special way” as the one in this photo. It is used as an advertisement media.

After posting a rather unusual shot yesterday (thank you so much for picking it as the featured image!), I am not gonna be overly original today :D I bet this touristy view of the Prague Castle and the Charles Bridge has been here many times but hopefully, not in this coloration. As you can see, the winter greyish weather combined with a sunset can create an interesting setting for a panoramic image ;)

Prague. The Charles Bridge. The place next to which was thrown from the Charles Bridge to the Vltava by the Great Martyr Jan Nepomuk. According to legend, in the very place where the body of the saint was plunged into the Vltava, a five-star glow appeared over the water, since Nepomuk was depicted with five stars above his head.

Today I will introduce you another chateau around Prague. His name is Nelahozeves and located in the village of same name. Approximately 25 kilometres north of Prague. Built in the 16th century in a late Renaissance style. It is owned by the Lobkowicz family and is accessible to the public.

Great image as always! Thank you so much. Tomas

Cesky Krumlov Castle is actually a large palatial complex, the second largest and most important in Bohemia, after Prague Castle. The castle has Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque elements, an 11-hectare garden and an original Baroque theater from the 17th century.

Not a very high-resolution picture unfortunately, but I like the way this ultra-modern shiny structure looks like it sticks out of the horizon to tower over the traditional roofs of this Prague neighbourhood :-) It almost looks like a bad montage. Captured in 2007 when I was doing my EVS in Czech Republic.

Old Town Hall with Astronomical Clock known as the Orloj is one of the most famous places in Prague, always crowded with tourists, especially every hour between 9 am and 11 pm, when the twelve apostles appear. It is located in Old Town Square, in the heart of Prague.

Ahoj!

Today’s picture captures walls in front of Castle Veveri. This picture is fresh, and you can admire beauty of architecture of these walls. “Castle season” will start in April. Veveri castle will be open on weekends. So, you can visit it then. The castle is closed now but you can still take a walk around those walls.
