Taiwan: Our first weekend / Taiwan: Unser erstes Wochenende
After a good night's sleep we started our first weekend in Taipei. Today we should meet our friend Yu-Hui, also called Strong. Shortly before 11am we arrived at our meeting point. There we noticed theese two girls. They both agreed willingly to take a picture together. Later we found out that Taipei has many volunteer helpers that support the public life of locals and tourists in many different sectors.
Nach einer ausgiebigen Portion Schlaf starteten wir in unser erstes Wochenende in Taipeh. Heute sollten wir unsere Freundin Yu-Hui, genannt Strong, treffen. Kurz vor 11 Uhr waren wir beim vereinbarten Treffpunkt, der MRT Station Dongmen. Dort fielen uns die beiden hilfsbereiten Mädchen auf. Der Bitte nach einem Erinnerungsfoto kamen die beiden gerne nach. Später erfuhren wir, dass es ihn Taipeh sehr viele sogenannte "Freiwillige" gibt, die in den verschiedensten Bereichen des öffentlichen Lebens Einheimischen und Touristen mit Rat und Tat zur Seite stehen.
Shortly after, Strong greeted us with a "ni hao" and a warmly hug. We were very happy for her welcome gift in form of a book and nicly packed pinapple cake.
Strong begrüßte uns kurz darauf mit einem “ni hao” und einer herzlichen Umarmung. Über ihr Willkommensgeschenk, einen informativen Reiseführer und einen hübsch verpackten Kuchen freuten wir uns sehr.
We decided to look for something to eat. In front of the restaurant was a long queue of people and a digital sign that said that it will take approximately 130 min the get a seat. Since we weren't that hungry, we reserved a table so we could go for a walk in the meanwhile.
Wir beschlossen zunächst essen zu gehen. Eine lange Warteschlange und die digitale Anzeige '130 min' vor dem Restaurant verhießen nichts Gutes. Da der Hunger noch nicht allzu groß war, reservierten wir für später einen Tisch und nützen die Wartezeit für einen Spaziergang.
We walked through a quarter that still has strong japanese influence. Taiwan used to be a colony of the japanese empire from 1895 till 1945.
Wir schlenderten durch ein Stadtviertel, in dem der japanische Einfluss unübersehbar ist. Von 1895 bis 1945 war Taiwan eine Kolonie des japanischen Kaiserreiches.
We even found some Austrian traces.
Auch österreichische Spuren konnten wir ausfindig machen.
In a quiet side street, we found a traditional japanese teehouse which also houses an art gallery. The first time we witnessed a tee ceremony first handed that was held on our table.
In einer Seitengasse, abseits des Trubels fanden wir ein traditionelles japanisches Teehaus, in dem auch gerade eine Kunstausstellung stattfand. Die Teezeremonie, die an unserem Tisch abgehalten wurde, war ein Erlebnis für sich.
After our lunch (rice, noodles, different vegetables and dim sum) we went to Songshan Cultural Creative Park, an old cigarette factory that was now is used to exhibit art by young artists. But we could also discover some very nice antique collector's items. After a tour we took a short rest to relax our tired legs in the nicly arrenged park. On our way home we passed Sun-Yat-Sen Memorial Hall where an event for local tv stars was held.
Nach dem Essen mit Reis, Nudeln, verschiedenen Gemüsearten und Dim Sum fuhren wir zum Songshan Kultur Kreativ Park. In einer alten Zigarettenfabrik war Kunsthandwerk von jungen Designern, aber auch einige Anitqutäten ausgestellt. Nach einem Rundgang tat eine Pause im schön angelegten Park unseren müden Beinen gut. Auf dem Heimweg haben wir noch eine Preisverleihung für lokale TV-Größen in der Sun-Yat-Sen-Gedächtnishalle miterlebt.
On Sunday we headed to the north where the landscape turns more green and hilly. At Beitou we visited the very well known hot springs. We walked uphill along a winding street next to a small river sourrounded by overwhelming nature. Reaching the top we sah a wonderful natural spectacle.
Am Sonntag ging es in Richtung Norden, wo die Landschaft hügelig und grüner wird. Wir machten Station in Beitou, eine Stadt, die für ihre heißen Schwefelquellen berühmt ist. Wir wanderten eine gewundene Straße entlang eines kleinen Flusses, inmitten herrlicher Natur, bergauf. Oben angekommen, offenbarte sich uns ein schönes Naturschauspiel.
In Tamsui, a town situated on the coast, we went for a brief bicycle tour alongside the river. This was nice change to all this walking we did the days before.
In der Küstenstadt Tamsui machten wir noch eine kleine Fahrradtour entlang des Flusses. Das Treten in die Pedale war eine willkommene Abwechslung zum vielen Gehen und Stehen.
We spent the evening in a small park with pleasantly mild temperatures.
Den Abend ließen wir in einem kleinen Park bei angenehm milden Temperaturen ausklingen.
Ihr habt eine interessante Zeit in Taipeh gehabt.
