It is fascinating to me to consider how idiomatic phrases translate into other languages. English and my 2nd. language German are related, so sometimes the idioms are understandable.
But something like "He's out of his gourd." translates into "He came out of the pumpkin." That sounds like a child's fairy tale :-)
So I used google and it gave this Korean translation (I have no idea what it conveys in Korean ;-) :
그는 조롱박에서 나왔다.
Idioms are hard to translate. The Korean you typed literally translated the phrase "out of his gourd", so it says "He came out of a gourd" instead of "He's out of his mind". :)
