i don't get this company. i think this is one of those outdated bullshit jobs started in the 1980s that managed to live till 2018. now it's more like a trolling site. these people will punish you for doing a good job which is transcribe difficult audio. it's like if the audio quality ain't good to the point that some google voice to text thing can do it, these guys will fuck up your audio transcription at 1 dollar a minuate. the management is incompetant, they rely on newbies to do all the tough work, either underpaid or not paid at all, and then the senior people get all those simple tasks at a dollar a minuate. they have this grading system where they post it at 17 cents a minuate for newbies but it's more like half that because they have a grading scheme and a good grade pays 3 times more than a bad one. so there's that incentive to give you a bad grade, and since seniority have all the easy jobs, they want to keep you doing the hard jobs.

so far spent 5 hours and don't have a dollar. mind you the preparation and then an editor didn't fallow the manual, editing is underpaid. there's no pat in the back for doing difficult audio, you get automatic flunked, that's how it works in casting words.

point is here that management has an incentive to be incompetant. i don't know who would send perfectly good audio to be transcribed at a dollar a minuate but that's what the seniority lives off on, a bit of juice to keep it going before it rots from inside
