Trading: A fresh new start

Sometime in September or the first week of October 2017, I lost most of my savings that I worked hard on. I had invested what little money I had into cryptocurrencies and even though there were times I made some bad trades, there were also times when I was able to earn some. So by experiencing those ups and downs in trading, I was able to raise my funds before the unexpected hack got them stolen from me.

Of course, it left me quite depressed but there were people in the Steemit community that were able to cheer me on and give me the hope of trying again. Another reason was my daughter. I can't afford to just sit by and do nothing, I want to improve the quality of life for her and my family and in order to do that I couldn't just sit back and keep mulling over what is lost. Some people donated some funds in order for me to get back and ease things a bit and to them, I am very thankful. I used those funds to reinvest into Steem and powered up my account.

After that, I didn't trade for a while because, to be honest, I didn't really have any extra cash to spare on trading due to a lot of expenses that I had to take care of. Now that the holiday season has ended and things are slowly starting to settle down a bit...I am still in a lot of debt but I was able to save up some funds to begin trading cryptocurrencies again and I think I am a bit wiser now when it comes to the security of my accounts.

I have set up a 2-factor authentication on all my accounts that I have on the different exchange websites like Poloniex, Bittrex, and Cryptopia. I have also made sure to keep the passwords for each and every one of those accounts completely different from the other accounts for usage on the web that I might have. Their emails might be the same but I can't change them right now and hopefully, in the future, I will try to keep a different email for each of them as well in order to prevent the same thing from happening again.

Anyways going back to having saved up some funds, actually I was going to wait a bit longer but I think now is a better time to get back into the game with a fresh start. I don't have much to invest and I know it will take me a long time to get back to where I was before but with the 50 dollars that I have bought bitcoin from coins.ph through 7-eleven here in the Philippines, I am going to try and do something good. There is still a lot I don't understand about reading the charts and I know I will end up following my gut again. I know I will lose some and gain on others but I am going to try my best to once again get back on my feet.

If you guys have any advice on what cryptocurrencies to look into please do share and let me know why you think it would be a good one to invest in. I am going to try keeping a trading journal here on Steemit as soon as I have started my trading activities. I hope that this year will be a good one for me when it comes to trading.

Thank you for reading. Much love! <3

Kyrios.

Good work bro good to see you back , market in a big dip at the moment so Im sure most of the top 20 or even 100 are good. I wish you luck in your investing and let me know if you need help with spreadsheets.

Thanks bro. I haven't started yet because of work but I will be starting in a few days. I do need help with that spreadsheet and any time that you are free please let me know so we can work on it.

good luck for next time

Thanks mate. :)

I started studying about the crypto last year, and the same year finally got myself into it. I entered 2018 with more knowledge and myself into crypto. I think I got myself a fresh new start in crypto this year. Start's not so good with all these FUDS all over the globe, but I hope it ends well though :)

Yeah I know there are way too many FUDS all over the globe and we have to be really careful but if we can get to the bottom of the FUDS we can eventually discover which one is right or not. To be honest the top 50 coins don't really have that many FUDs and can be easily trusted.

I’m sorry to hear what happened to you. That sounds depressing indeeed. Life’s best lessons unfortunately come the hard way, don’t they?

I am glad you asked for advice, as I look forward to reading the answers. My only investment has been my time on a Steemit, blogging, commenting and curating. The idea of investing and potentially losing is very frightening to me. You must really believe in the upside potential to get back into the market after what you’ve been through.

I agree steemit is a good investment to make and I am already doing that from time to time with what little money I can spare. Hopefully it will go even higher than it has recently. And to be honest I do believe in the crypto market and the potential that some of the coins have. As long as the tech and the devs behind a coin are good it will only go higher.
