TODAY IS NATIONAL SPINACH DAY!

Everyday is a gift and an opportunity to celebrate. Today I’m celebrating spinach, one of my favorite veggies!
SPINACH
In my mind,
I do find,
spinach in a can,
linked to Popeye the Sailor Man!
A favorite childhood cartoon.
That led me to assume,
eating spinach would make me strong.
Now I know, Popeye wasn’t wrong!
As a vegetable,
spinach is respectable.
Popeye used it to stop criminals.
Now I know it’s loaded with minerals.
It helped Popeye become a fighter and
now I know it’s loaded with vitamins.
It gave Popeye the strength of a tiger.
Now I know it’s loaded with fiber.
Popeye ate it from a can,
Now I eat it fresh, to increase my lifespan!
