IS AYUTTHAYA WORTH A VISIT? ANCIENT KINGDOM!!! (THAILAND)
WHAT IS AYUTTHAYA?
Ayutthaya was founded in AD 1350 and it was the former capital of Thailand for 417 years. Ayutthaya was destroyed in 1767 by the Burmese army which resulted in the collapse of the kingdom. Bangkok became the capital of Thailand. However, Ayutthaya still has hundreds of temples and other things to see. The funny thing is we have never heard of this remarkable place before coming to Thailand. :DDD
About us
We are Tot and Kamile - two travelers from Lithuania. We came to Thailand after one month in Nepal where we were volunteering for a while. Usually, we hitchhike, but Thailand was an exception as we had only two weeks to explore this colorful country. In Thailand, we traveled mostly by train.
BANGKOK RAILWAY STATION
We met our volunteering partners accidentally. You can see all our volunteering experience in our video.
IS AYUTTHAYA WORTH A VISIT?
First of all, I would like to say it's very touristic. Usually, we like less touristic places as people there are friendlier, prices much lower and so on... The thing is, Thailand is very touristic in general and two weeks is not enough to search for unbeaten paths. However, sometimes it's good to visit those tourist favorite destinations too and Ayutthaya is probably a must. We did a right thing when we decided not to book a room. Going to hotels directly is much cheaper. We found one for a few dollars per night, so I could say Ayutthaya is "budget traveler friendly".

My girlfriend @Kamile. Check out her blog. :)))

2000 TEMPLES
Some people told us there are around 2000 temples in Ayutthaya. It is hard to believe, but they really have lots of them...
NEXT ADVENTURE - NORTHERN THAILAND
Want to see more? After a couple of days in Ayutthaya, we took a train to Chiang Mai - the Northern part of Thailand. @Kamile shared a VIDEO about it. :DDD
CHIANG MAI ZOO
wow, that place seems incredible. So much architecture and culture, I would definitely visit it. Awesome trip, best wishes!
Yes, it is. Actually, we visited only a few attractions. Ayutthaya has a lot more to offer, like Temple of the Reclining Buddha and so on.
Wow, nice trip in Thailand 🇹🇭
I have worked at Ayutthaya before.
Really? What exactly were you doing? :)
I worked at Japanese company in Ayuthaya but my home is in Bangkok.😊
So beautiful temples! And the buda in the ficus is amazing! Good job as always! ☺️
Oh yes, they are beautiful. However, after some time in Asia I was starting to miss Christian Churches. :D
