Thai businessman planning construction through tiger sanctuaries
This a story about Premchai Karnataka, the president of Italian-Thai Development company, who is developing a road to connect Myanmars west coast with Thailand. The road will e down up cutting through Myanmar's Taninthariya forest, which is home to black and clouded leopards, as well as Asian elephants.
The road is meeting a lot of resistance from the many Thai residents, conservationists, and an armed ethnic group, the KNU. Have a read, it's a important conservation effort
