Tesla Model 3 continues to be a myth and you may not want it afterall

Tesla Model 3 should have been a miraculous creation that brings electric cars to the hands of mortals. But reality is quite different.

Tesla Model 3 has been in the prototype stage for several years after being revealed to the general public. In the meantime, you would have expected the American giant to develop an efficient system for its mass production. Unfortunately, all promises regarding the delivery of a large number of units have been defeated. Moreover, according to a report released by CNBC, production issues are much higher than originally thought and than former company officials have said.

Under the condition of anonymity, Tesla employees said in December last year that the batteries for the long-lived motor vehicle are partially hand-made. Employees from Panasonic's partner were brought up a few months ago to streamline battery production, but still seem unable to cope with demand.

To make things even worse, a series of hand-made batteries in 2017 have come to Tesla Model 3 owners with flaws. The production process is one that requires so much precision that it seems stupid for someone to think it can be done by hand. A single Tesla battery includes a very elaborate arrangement of lithium-ion cells and cooling tubes that must be perfectly aligned and glued together.

Although Tesla officials have ardently denied having delivered batteries with smaller or larger defects ever, speculation and arguments in this direction are numerous. It all starts with the quality inspectors employed by Tesla on a fixed term contract. They were able to confirm that the battery testing process is much more simplistic and superficial than other battery manufacturers with similar technologies.

On a different note, throughout 2017, 1550 Tesla Model 3 cars were delivered to buyers out of 2400 that were produced in total. At the same time, the US manufacturer delivered 101,000 Model S and Model X. In the first quarter of this year, Tesla hopes to deliver 2,500 Model 3 per week, a significant drop from a few months ago 5000 a week. More details on this subject will be found on February 7, when Elon Musk will publish the 2017 financial report.

I myself were on the list to buy a Tesla 3, I have registered but didn't pay the reservation price as I wanted to think a little bit and see what alternatives are there on the market for electric cars. And I must say that if I would have paid the reservation perhaps I would have been sorry as I don't know when the car will be ready for us, the people. And with this year technological conference other brand are announcing launches of electric cars and hopefully they will do better than Tesla. And to tell you the truth, they might...
