I could see Surghy walking among the graves as if striding amidst courtiers. He would stop and mumble at a marker or point at a grave. Surghy had gone mad, insane; Totally insane- at last. I was just about to climb down from the oak; relieved to go back to the dorm when I saw the grave shudder and break open- like something was pushing out. Then the marker, which Surghy had whispered to, fell over. Oh God! Impossible; this was not supposed to happen. It was true, Surghy was a necromancer; the first in hundreds of years. He could claim corpses, animate them with some dark energy and worse fate awaited the living. Though I knew little of necromancy I was sure I was in mortal danger . I wiped the sweat from my brow thinking how to get away from this graveyard alive.
I tried to make no noise at all as I turned to climb down. The jagged shadows seemed alive to my fear; my hands started shaking and I had to sit still where I was- Lord! I was literally too scared to move. The air was heavy with the scent of decay and rot, a grey dark mist started rising from the ground in puffs and whorls and the wind had stopped completely. The graveyard was silent but for the ragged digging noises.
I felt the cold prickle on my exposed arms before I heard the scratchy whisper “Living fleshhh..”. I held my breath and prayed that it was not me the dead wanted. I closed my eyes tight; feeling terror grip my heart. I prayed- “Please let me live Lord; I am sorry so sorry for all I did.” A cry escaped my mouth when I heard my name called out, “Nyylaaa” I leapt down from the tree propelled by fear; landing awkwardly I bit my tongue to stop from crying out as my ankle burst into pain- sprain! No! No! I stumbled around the tree one arm trying to catch it for support. Get away- all my senses screamed at me but my foot would not obey. I fell down crying out loud as my ankle gave way, pain blocking out everything. “Help me” I screamed loudly too scared to do anything else. Great sobs escaped my mouth as I lay there among old graves with tears marring my sight, my leg in pain, feeling utterly defenseless. I could hear Surghy call out in his flat menacing voice; “Come to me now girl; you will get hurt if I have to send my underlings after you....Now Nylaa."
I tried to stand up holding on to a gravestone with both hands. There was no chance of escape I would die here or worse. I stopped another sob in my throat and clamped a hand on my mouth. Think girl, there has to be a way. I should have told the Drammen pack before sneaking out. As if on cue I heard a distant howl, soon echoed by two others. My heart leapt with hope and without thinking much I scrambled away from the tree; I fell and got up somehow clutching at nearby gravestones. Blood, he would smell my blood. I searched for a something sharp frantically and found a stone somewhat sharp; I held it tightly and jabbed my forearm keeping it away from my clothes, blood ruins dresses. And screamed “HELP! Help Meee".
I limped on my sprained ankle towards the graveyard wall, trying to see through the tears and grave dirt clouding my eyes. A hundred different things flashing across my mind- all but incoherent. A black shadow leapt the wall, landing a few feet ahead of me. I recognized the elongated arms and the visible fangs- werewolf. Surghy was screaming out a cursed summoning. As I stumbled to get away something pulled at my hair brutally; I gagged as the reek of death filled my nose. I was dragged even as I tried to turn desperate to escape from the animated dead man; then the corpse was pulled away savagely as the wolf leapt on it. Suddenly jerked I stumbled and banged my head against a stone (I think?). By now Surghy had finished the summoning and I felt my bones resonate as deep below ground a portal opened... I passed out with thoughts about what horror had been unleashed tonight.
I love the atmosphere and the action here! Necromancers, zombies, werewolves, and a desperate struggle in a graveyard! Awesome!
Thanks! Done mate! 🙂
Good luck!

I really love the necromancer take, you manage to create a complete supernatural world in the details, the pack reference, the werewolf, just the right amount to create a full image without any story break for exposition. You have a very strong opening, the way you build the tension to the grave bursting open, then the rising fear, reflecting in the story pace comes through so well. I love some of the descriptions you've used.
You create a vivid picture, inked in notes of fear, really complimented by the tone taken. A very enjoyable read, thank you very much - look forward to your next entry!
