How AI, Robots, and Automation are Going to Steal Your Job & Other Ramblings

Will Robots Make Us Poor

Hey guys, today's video is something a little bit different. Just some thoughts and ramblings from me today. This afternoon I was watching a documentary titled "Will Robots Make Us Poor" which talked about the advancement of AI and robots and automation and how it could disrupt capitalism as we know it to the point there won't be enough jobs and there won't be enough for us to do so we'll need to go on a Universal Basic Income.

I found it to be pretty interesting and linked to it on Youtube above if you'd like to give it a watch. It got me thinking about a number of things but one thing it got me thinking is that I think in the future having people do things for you will be both a luxury service and a novelty.

I comment in this video how I think it's kind of funny how cyclical society is. Cellphones used to be huge, then they got small, then they got huge again. Back in the day people cooked from scratch and made homemade meals. Then we got the microwave and tv dinners and we leaned towards convenience and now today years later were back to buying artisan cheeses and craft beers. Right now things are going heavily towards automation but I'm almost sure years down the road when automation becomes the norm having a human do something for you will be a novelty service you'll pay extra for it and it will be kinda wierd to have that ability.

Anyhow, just some odd ramblings from me today. Hope you enjoy. Let me know your thoughts and drop a comment below...

Hmmm, never thought of it that way. People are even advocating leaving social media and the internet in order to "connect back to the Earth."

I guess in the future, what you said might happen: having a human make something will end up being more beneficial than a robot.

At the same time, I think robots will help take away jobs that people don't like anyway. Does anyone actually enjoy working on an assembly line for a car manufacturer? Doubt it. People do it to make money.

I think that although people don't like to see jobs being taken by robots and AI, at the same time it forces people to actually pursue something they enjoy. Robots will take all the boring monotonous jobs and when that happens, people can only do things that are more creative and exciting for them.

China will not progress on A.I. or robotics. They never depended on it nor will they ever promote it.

Every time I go to China, I have never seen any robotics.
