Earth Resources and Space Exploration, Commercialization 1
Welcome my friends on Steemit. Today I talk to you about the planet Earth, Space, and the their resources. I hope you enjoy this piece and it tickles your brain to think of relevant posts you could make on the topic. This topic is very much something people should think about as the desire and ability to enter space becomes feasible.
That human beings can enter space is well known. The photograph is a shot by a member of the Apollo 10 crew with a hand held camera and 70 mm lense of Crater 302 on the surface of the Moon.
Earth, Space and Resource Distance
Space near Earth is not very populated with anything besides the Moon. Yes, there are satellites and the international space station but after the Moon, it is a long way to anything else. Our technology is currently very slow compared to the distances needed to reach something.
I recently published this article to show that there are very valuable things in space: Psyche Asteroid Worth $10,000 Quadrillion
A Moon comprised entirely of methane was found which is very valuable and stands on it head the theory of fossil fuels. The Cassini-Huygens spacecraft landed on this moon which is Titan and orbits Saturn.
Earth's Resources - Start Thinking
And now for the shocker, the horror that could occur and why we have to start thinking about this - Earth's limited resources. We all know that the Earth is only so big and contains only so much of this and that material. Every time we launch a rocket, every time we send a spacecraft into space - it is made of materials from Earth.
The materials used to make the spacecraft are now gone from Earth. The materials are in space and will never come back. The Voyager Spacecraft is a great example. What was in that spacecraft, what it was made of is gone. Much of the materials are valuable. There are now less of those materials available on Earth. They are off in space - gone.
Is this something to be truly afraid of? With thought and planning, humanity could easily reach the point where like Psyche we find and have access to the infinite amount of resources space contains.
Space Contains:
- An infinite amount of energy compared to Earth.
- An infinite amount of raw materials.
- An infinite amount of space
- Earth
All we need to do is correctly use our abilities to take the correct course to obtain the materials of space and its energy and we as a species are set. We have made it. Our only problem is how much of the resources of the planet do we use to gain access to space?
Rocket Fuel Is Water
Rocket fuel is largely water separated into oxygen and hydrogen and liquefied. We are shooting our most valuable resource into space where it may not ever return. If the water vapor created by burning the oxygen and hydrogen stays within the orbit of the Earth, eventually the spent fuel of the rocket will fall from the sky as the orbit decays. If not it just shoots off into space at 25,000 miles an hour or so. Eventually the water vapor may form into a ball or spheroid shape due to gravity and the attraction of particles in a vacuum.
At one time in my life, I wondered if comets were actually the spent fuel of rockets fired a long time ago that took up a solar orbit in our solar system. There is no way to truly prove such a thought but once it was reported a comet was mostly ice. I began to wonder. I would bet, a lot of scientists wonder about that.
My point is this: mankind and all life on Earth needs the Earth to survive. There is no way around that. It would be possible to chip away the last piece of the Earth, suck up the last amount of water and turn it into fuel, to make spacecraft. Therefore, the exploration of space and the ability to use its materials and energies becomes the focus not a willy-nilly, I want to do it, or I am powerful so I do it attitude.
The exploration of space must be controlled to provide access to energy and materials first before it is the object of a pleasure cruise for any number of people. Once the energy is secured, less of Earth's energy needs to be used to enter space. Once the energy is secured it is less costly to access the materials.
I find no real problem with what has occurred so far in the exploration and study of space, except perhaps with projects like Voyager where the spacecraft and its materials are long gone from our solar system. It is as uncontrolled future or the waste of Earth's resources that is a potential for worry, a catalyst for thought, the impetus for controlled planning, the mandate for proper use of resources, and the magnifying glass of intelligent focus.
If we do this right, there will never be want for humanity and any other species of life on the Earth ever again. Our species and those which we have the charge to protect who live with us will not go extinct but populate the other worlds we shall colonize with us.
Without Thought or Planning
This is the Earth first viewed from the Moon:
We do not want the Earth to look like where the picture was taken from by Lunar Orbiter 1. All it takes to keep the Earth to way it is until we can make it a better place is thought and planning.

Thanks my Steemit friends for upvoting me and I appreciate a resteem and resteem back if I know about the resteem and comments are very welcome on this topic.
Very good about space
Thanks @honeywish
cool space post
Thanks my friend @businesswri I am trying to think ahead about problems in space colonization and glad you appreciated the post
Cheers :D and also sent you a follow. I hope one day we go to Mars
I am certain we will and go far beyond that my friend @business wri, if we do it right
Yes. Maybe one day we will go to the stars :D would be a dream
;-D
:D
Excellent post dear friend @ jeff-kubitz congratulations for this interesting post, thank you very much for sharing all this information
have a beautiful day
Thanks for your appreciation and support of my post dear friend @jlufer and have a wonderful weekend
Interesting post @jeff-kubitz
Thanks my friend @reenamathew and I am happy you find it something to think about - it's what the human race needs
You are welcome .
consider orbital pinwheels.

That's one thought. How about a superconductor cannon made of superconductor rings, say one at the Moon, Mars, and Earth that shoot and collect modular sized space capsules for human and cargo transport powered by cosmic radiation? Did you ever see my post on the H.A.L.P - High Altitude Launch Platform?
nope...sounds like a good idea though...kinda like dark station?

I was just thinking, instead of a nice ringed superconductor cannon, which is easiest, uses the least power, and provides the most velocity. A series of robotic freighters could also work between the nearest neighbors
