People of Africa love fancy things alot. They are so up to date on all the trends around the world.

While I agree that it is indeed a good thing to be fashonable and trendy, I don't think it is a good thing to languish our hard earned money on things that are not necessary. Especially when those things are not exactly giving us the value of our money.

Afrcans -- Nigerians to be precise-- are too much 'crazy' about new trends that they can go to what ever extent in acquiring them, and one of those things is the 4k Ultra HD Tvs.

What is 4k UHD all about?

It is an ''unbrella term'' that encompasses higher resolutions (more pixels) than the HD Tvs, as well as more genuine color and higher frame rates.

This resolution Tv is not yet certified for the African market. But we still find this TV in showrooms and eventually in the living rooms of people. In Nigeria, some government office connect their CCTV cameras to the 4K UHD resolution TVs. That's funny because it shows that they are just purchasing the TVs without understanding the concept behind it.

To enjoy the power of true 4K UHD technology which is the highest video display currently, one must have a high video resolution (of 2160 X 3840 pixels) to match with the 4K UHD TV. Without that you can't come out and say you're watching 4K TV. Its picture quality is far better than the usual HD and full HD displays and it produces super-rich, life-like images.

Any individual that is buying these TVs simply don’t understand how resolutions work. A majority of you who buy 4k UHD TVs have never watched 4k videos before. Infact only few 4K contents are presently available. Even television networks and Television shows are not yet available in 4K resolution. So what’s the need of spending huge amount of money to buy the 4K UHD TV only to go home and watch the regular videos or cable TV channels? Now that's funny. Annoying to to say but the least. What waste so much money on nothing?

The visual entertainment world; tv channels are not yet ready to embrace the 4K UHD technology.

Perhaps you can afford to spend outrageous data rates in streaming 4K videos directly from Netflix. If not, you can hardly enjoy the 4K experience. Okay now let's assume you can afford the data, what internet service provider in Nigeria or around Africa can give you the needed bandwidth to stream 4k movies non-stop on Netflix at 2160 X 3840 pixels everyday? We should try to make use of our senses sometimes!!!

I know that with this article, I have just opened up the secrets that no TV sales man will ever reveal to you. Spending your hard earned cash on such TV in Nigeria (or Africa) is like buying a plate of rice and eating it with 'hashi' (chopsticks.) You won't enjoy it!
