Daily tech talk.. Questions around AI

in #technology7 years ago

In March I attended two conferences with different topics, and different audience. The common of both conference (HOUG 2017 Executive event and Microsoft Future day) is built around the search of the future. Both covered only the near future, without the real effects of the economy and the society.

In this article, I will walk thru on the different topics what was important for me, and what is more important and currently not covered.

The first topic which was mentioned is the collaboration without borders. This can be realized on different levels. From within the company to the global presence. One form of this borderless operation is the DevOPS operational form within the company, which blurring the boundaries between IT operations and development. They work together. In more advanced companies the border blurred between the business and the IT, and they agile work together. Therefor most of the startups and fintechs successful. Of course, at this sentence the large conservative enterprises tell, above a size this is not available, but therefore intelligent tech companies form tribes, whose collaborate in a real effective way.

This is just the beginning. There is a project in Hungary, to build Europe’s first autonomous driving car test track which covers city parts as Highways. In this cooperation, there are several companies who currently competitor works together for a more successful tomorrow. I think, for survival the tech challenges of the digitalization which affect now every company from SMEs to the Large Enterprises they must form workgroups to make their companies more effective. Without this any company who make a disruptive idea able to kill their business within a decade.

The second important thought which I got this week is came from an enterprise sales. Today we don’t have time to bring the lag, we must move forward and make more innovative solutions than any of the competitors able to do. For this we must use new technologies, which maybe not on the market. This is more important for companies like Banks who more conservative than any industry sector. Those whose focus only on the backlog will go to oblivion. It doesn’t mean they did their job wrong, it means the evolution is faster than them. We can find many example on this topic, like the case of Sony, Nokia or Kodak. They were leader in their sector now they closing their business what was their main business.

The third important topic was on MI and how it affects the society. There was a theory about that like in the third industrial revolution the population found a different job. In the beginning of the 19th century 50 percent of the population of the US worked in the agricultural sector, now it is around 2 percent. And somehow the missing 48 percent is not an unemployed person. I think in this case it will be not so simple. Therefor most of the countries are thinking about the automatic income, which don’t need any work for it. I think this is what will be cover in the next 15 years’ 95 percent of the population, and in 30 years 99. What I know about economy, this will limit the grow of the consumption, and will make more questions than answers. The other more important question is, how will the people handle mentally this situation. I expect the living like it was in the Wall-E movie.

On this presentation, there was another interesting theory about that the main difference between MI and real persons, that MI will never refuse the given order. I think this is the current phase. I can imagine a situation where a computer refuse an order, because it has more information which can be used to calculate the optimal decision. And in this case, if it has permission it can refuse the given order. Just think about one think. If you have a conversation with a colleague on the same level, you may have a refusal for yours ask. But if you get an order from the CEO of the company where you work, you don’t have the chance to refuse it. I think this is the same with the machines. If we use them as slaves, we can give them orders, but if we accept their decisions because they have much more information than we can collect in time, than we can get refusal.

May was really effective with this conferences, they give a lot of impressions for my future work, and look forward for the innovations, and jobs which doesn’t exist today.

I'm curious about your views on this topic!

I see you are very active on bidding bots. Would you consider checking my account? I make cool objects scratchbuilding or using 3d printers. I recently built 3d printed bull scale droid from Star Wars. I would appreciate your support.

It really is a very useful conference
Thank you for this post I benefited very much @cuttie1979

The prosperity of the economy concerns the interest of society

Images is the simple ones, I much more interested in voice processing. Few years ago I tried to teach model with subtitled audio tracks from movies. Than I had no success. Maybe today. In a few weeks I will have 8 volta card to try harder.

AI was future technology. self driving car is one of them. i can't imagine in the future w've to compete with robot..
