A technology-free vacation - YAY or NAY?
I just came back from a much needed mini holiday, break, vacation, or whatever you might want to call it.
Although there were many other people at the resort (which is actually odd as it's not holiday season yet), it was as if everyone there had the same plan as us...
Well, we did a lot of that!
The children were at peace, they didn't fight as much as usual. They had friends and there were no issues. We laughed more than usual and spent actual time with each other without interruptions and complications.
Because we had no technology!
It's located somewhere where there isn't any good cellphone reception, not to mention internet. Only when driving to the closest town, messages and notifications is delivered. As much as that's a scary thought for some people, for us, it was all that we needed!
That's exactly what it feels like for the first two days but after that, it's calming and relaxing to not have to worry about a phone, a charger, a battery, a laptop, etc.
Have you tried it? Let me know how it worked for you!
Apart from the part where we may need to make emergency calls, I am fine without internet/ technology. We get to talk more and spend more quality time with family. Not to mention the kids! They get to be more active through play.
I don't even want to imagine this although I think it is needed. My whole life is on my pc. ....
Wow a scary proposition. Koudos to you. Definately a yea! Should be a mandatory part of any ones mental health plan. Thank you for posing the idea! Safe travels.
