Dead But Still Remembered For Good
In life it’s not how long you have lived but how impactful one lives.
Last night I was reading @shikika 's post where she talked about her grand mum and the things her grand mum loves to eat but after her death, there was a reduction of the presence of that particular meal or food in the house or during shopping. But few days ago she went to the market and sighted that meal and immediately remembered her grand mum.
As I read through that post last night, I immediately remembered my late dad who died three years ago and the happy moments we had together. How good and friendly he was to people, although he was not a rich man but he gave out from the little he had.
The part I remembered that brought tears to my eyes was the issue of a two or three years old girl of a woman who once assisted my parents in the restaurant they once had before I got admission into the university in 2012.
When this little girl heard that my dad was late, she started crying. Her mum asked her why she was crying and she replied her mum: we will not see him again. The mum tried consoling her but no way, she slept off crying, woke up and still continued her crying. Why? She remembered the good done for her.

I knew the reason for this little girl’s cry, my dad always bought sweets and other stuffs for she and her kid brother whenever he visits them.
A little girl cried because my dad was doing something for her.
But the great question comes to you and I, after we have passed on from this life, what will people remember us for?. What good are we doing today for people that they are wishing we should live long?
Who have you made to smile with your wealth and connections? Are you heart broken when you see the needy or your concern has being your family alone?
Have ever wandered why some people are still reaping from the good things their parents did while others are reaping the harvest of evils that their parents have done? What reputation are you building today that your children will be bold to boast that you were their dad or mum?
Good people are hard to find but can you be among the few good people?

Your post has really opened my mind to the question (what will you be remembered for when you gone). If you leave a great life and do good you will be remembered for your good deeds.
