Friday, for those who work at corporate usually will have about 2-hour lunch and boss usually more flexible on Friday. So my lunch group decided to dine in Oriental Treasure at The Sphere Bangsar South, this restaurant most of the time is fully occupied and the price is quite expensive for middle-class working adult. We decided to dine in today doesn't mean we are upper class, we want to explore is it something really good that people are willing to spend so much?

Since the restaurant always full so we make a booking on Thursday to avoid queue during lunch hour. The restaurant looks really grand from outside to inside, full of chandelier lights and we are sitting beside glass window so definitely nice view for us. Well, actually nothing much on view as it is surrounded by office tower, at least better than sitting in the middle of the restaurant.

The restaurant offers a wide range of Chinese cuisine as well as dim sum. We are here for their dim sum, of course, so we look at the menu and look at the price as well. Guess what, each dim sum basket cost about RM 10 (USD 2.6) and the price is considered towards to the high end. Well, imagine you are dining in a grand restaurant with a beautiful glass view beside you at the Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur. what do you expect? RM 6 (USD 1.5) dim sum per basket?

Har Gow

When the dim sum starts serving, it really looks good and smelly good too. Look at those dim sum picture that captured by my Huawei Mate 9. Will those dim sum look good to you too? The Siu Mai & Har Gow is quite big not to mention the taste, it is really good. Now we know why they charge us premium!

Loh Mai Kai

The bill only for our first round of ordering, we have 10 people and some of us order extra to take away. The total bill is about RM 430 (USD 110) for all of us. The ambient is great, the good is good, the price is considered high-end to us.

Will you visit again for the dim sum? Maybe yes, but not so soon!

Looks good.... I usually avoid dim sum in Malaysia as I am spoilt with the ones in Hong Kong.

Thanks buddy, I'm sure Hong Kong is much more better than Malaysia but we do have few places in Klang Valley in case to fix dim sum craving. Not to mention Ipoh have few dim sum restaurants too. :)

I've tried their char siew, very nice wehh!! You should try!

Looks really good. I'd love to try it sometime. Although that's not cheap, I had many coworkers who would spend $10 each for lunch every day here in the USA. And that could just be a quick hamburger or something. Sounds like you have some good prices over there.

Good article. It was like getting to visit the restaurant with you. I wouldn't have minded a picture out the window, but that's ok. Good job. :)

@themanwithnoname, thank you. I will go and snap some photos for you next week :)

Sweet! Don't go back just on my account, but it seems like you'll at least getting good food.
