My FIRST How To Guide: Quick Steem Dollar Withdrawal using Remitano

A few days ago, I posted a plea on Steemit. I didn’t know or expect if it will work at all. One thing for sure, I now believe Steemit is pretty powerful.

After all, we all need PLAN B sometimes.

I didn’t earn much out of it yet (still far from my target) but every bit of it helps and it proves that the experiment works!

The process of Steemit is pretty simple too (see visual below).

I am not even aware I already accumulated some Steem Dollars (SBD) in my account (I didn’t redeem most of it duh…) until it was pointed out by none other than @bitrocker2020.

So anxiously, I wondered about the next step. How do I withdraw it?

Superman2.jpg
(Image by HerPortal Malaysia, I did the best I could to photoshop this)

Like a Superman with a backpack (without the flowy red cape and red undie on the outside) @bitrocker2020 came to the rescue and offer his help to teach my first withdrawal process!

He suggested to use REMITANO as it is faster and efficient.

Unfortunately, I only get sketchy info over the meet up as I didn’t bring my laptop (he didn’t ask me to bring mah!). Being an old skool I brought only a notepad and pen. But Superman is kind enough to tinker some apps on my phone for my easy reference.

Later that night after my mommy duties, I sat in front of my laptop and read every Malaysian Steemians posting on withdrawal. Unfortunately, I only manage to get info on Luno and a short one on Remitano. Worried that I may make mistakes with my first attempt, I slept on it and decided to do it the next day.

On the very next day, I gather enough courage to learn my first withdrawal and Superman Simon called me to guide over the phone.

It took me a while to compile the screenshots and come up with this the instruction and I am not sure if I have covered all the steps here correctly, so please let me know in case I missed any crucial and important steps.

I made this guide basically to:

  1. Remind myself on how to do it later. So if I forget, I can refer to this guide.
  2. Some of us (the green horns) want to know how to do this too.
  3. To show others (not on Steemit yet) that this platform rocks!
  4. To show others (already on Steemit) to post more great contents so they too get paid!

So here it is folks! My first HOW TO GUIDE on Steemit!

B1.png

a) First thing first, redeem all Steem Dollars. Make sure you click the REDEEM (you can see this appear next to Wallet & Settings) button. I have redeemed mine earlier hence you didn’t see it there now.

B2.png

b) Then find out how much you have in Steem Dollar, click Sell first (bottom).

B3.png

c) Clicking on Sell will bring you to Blocktrades. Copy the Deposit Address. Then go back to your Steem Wallet. Click Transfer.

B4.png

d) It will bring you to Transfer to Account Pop Up. Make sure to key in the to column with @blocktrades. Key in the amount you want to withdraw. Put in the Deposit Address in the Memo box and then click Submit. It will bring you to the next page.

B5.png

e) Copy the memo address. Then go to Remitano to register for an account to enable transfer taking effect. Make sure you also install the Authy 2-Factor Authentication (get from Playstore) to authenticate your transfer/buy/sell later.

B6.png

f) Once you follow the steps, validate your accounts, login to Remitano again. If you see your name on the dashboard, it means you have successfully opened an account. In Remitano you will see ETH WALLET, where you put in your Memo address earlier to ensure transfer is successful. When you initiated the transfer, be sure to wait for a few minutes until you see the deposit is successful.

g) Do not click the Generate New Address button if you already have the memo address on top of it UNLESS you are initiating a FRESH transfer. In ETH WALLET you will also see history of your Withdrawals and Deposits.

B8.png

h) On your Remitano dashboard, you will also see Buy/Sell Eth, where it leads you to LIST OF BUYERS (where you can sell your SBD to) and LIST OF SELLERS (where you can buy directly from).

In my case, I need to SELL. So I look for Buyers. Uncheck the box next to the Show Offline Buyers so you only deal with Online Buyers or Sellers (if your case is immediate). If you are selling (to earn money of course), look at the list of buyers and identify which bank you want them to bank in to.

Make sure it’s the same bank where you have an account with. Note that the buying rates are dynamic and changes every seconds/minutes.

Then, ensure the rates on offer is attractive. This is when your patience is tested – waiting for the right rates.

If you have never traded before, this could be tricky but if you pick up fast, it is not that difficult to see the patterns.

So in this case, I monitor and compare which BUYER is selling attractive rates (higher than the other).

Do not be greedy (hoping for the price to go up even higher), do your due diligence and monitor wisely. I am not sure why, I notice the rates are slightly higher towards the evening.

Next, I identified my ideal buyer and quickly sell my SBD.

B9.png

i) Just a note that some buyers/sellers have their own MINIMUM amount of ETH (ethereum) too. For example, if you have 0.2464 SBD to sell, and their minimum to buy is 0.9090 then chances are the transaction will not be successful. Check the amount of ETH, make sure if the correct amount and if you are satisfied with the amount of MYR you are receiving, click Sell ETH. You will see details of your buyer at the bottom.

B10.png

j) Then it will bring you to the next page where you key in the account number of your bank account and your name. Click Continue. Make sure you open another window of your bank account to monitor and make sure the transfer is successful.

B11.png

k) Before any transfer takes effect, you will see this page. This is when you logon to your Authy app on your phone and click to get the Token. Key in the Authy token and ensure Trust this device is enabled.

(This is what Authy logo looks like, Image from Google)

B12.png

l) Then, you will see a notification like this. Click Agree and take note of it.

B13.png

m) This is the best part. You wait for payment to be initiated. The window given for buyer to make payment to you is just 15 minutes. You will see the minute countdown ticking.

B14.png

n) Once the payment is successful, click I have received payment to let your buyer know or else he would be waiting and wondering what happen to the payment.

B15.png

o) Once payment is successful you will also see this.

B16.png

p) Make sure to rate your buyer accordingly. My buyer is fast and efficient and he deserves a Happy Face icon!

To be honest, it was a fun experience too! Can get a little addictive when you see the rates go up and you still some SBD to sell. You will need to do this a couple of times to get the hang of it.

If the guide is somewhat helpful, don’t forget to Upvote ya? Donate 1 SBD is also appreciated! I am still accepting generosity for my emergency fund to at least last me until mid January.

So who is Angiechin28?

Angie is a Mom with a mission (with a 10 year old daughter, 6 overweight cats and an overgrown baby man, ie: Hubs) is the Founder of HerPortal.co, the first online platform in Malaysia that connects & empower Women & Moms to affordable online learning (coming soon!), shareable contents, job opportunities, resources and go-to market opportunities to earn side income/sustain via tried & tested channels.

She discovered Steemit by accident after reading a friend’s posting on Facebook and decided to check it out because she’s too curious (not kaypoh ahhhh..) to find out exactly how it works. Since then, she never looks back.

Since she loves to post up her ramblings and contents (current fave is Facebook & Instagram), she might as well earn by doing so by posting up on Steemit’s platform and best of all, it’s the only online platform that she knows allows ANYONE to earn cryptocurrency by creating and posting up contents, by voting or commenting other people’s contents and so much more!

Bottom line, whatever you do on the platform, you will earn. How cool is that?

So, what are you waiting for? Sign up for Steemit already, it is FREE and you’ve got nothing to lose but an awesome opportunity.

Current tagline: You live only once, take the leap and discover where it brings you!

THANK YOU! This post came at the right time. I signed up with Remitano just this morning and still blur2 on how to use it. I have Luno and Coinhako but I need something faster to withdraw some needed cash (always broke LOL). Thanks!!

Also you might want to include that you must have a wallet before you can cash out anything and on Step (c) the Deposit Address must be obtained from your wallet. Complete newbies would get totally confused. I am still confuse after all these months LOL

Kan @coloringiship?? If I don't do it quickly sure forget one! I am getting forgetful these days bah. Hope it helps. Kalau still blur, Superman @bitrocker2020 ada.

After doing it several times, I am still confused. I still need to refer to a guide LOL...I am pretty dense when it involves the wallet section LOL

Same here! Do it slowly babe. Write the steps down if you need to. I did the same.

Been waiting for this post! Thanks @angiechin28.

Welcome @francesaw, I hope it helps!
