Investment, dating scams tricked Australians out of atleast $300 million in 2016

The above image depicts the percentage of scams reported in Australia by State (2015). Hi there, I am your good friend Orlow (@lucky.digger), and I suggest you really take a good look at this video:

Your steemit.com account has probably already been key-logged. Time to wake-up. If you have been contacted by scammers go to www.scamwatch.gov.au.

The average amount lost to scammers is $8,000, with eight people being scammed by more than $1 million in 2015. Most of the dating and romance scams are being run out of Nigeria and Malaysia, while it is believed most investment scams are being run from Asia and 40% of the scam losses last year were to people over the age of 55.

But wait, cool down. Slooooooowwwwwwww doooowwwwwwnnn. The biggest scams and hacks are about to enter the world of crime. Your systems will be mining without your consent. And your crypto accounts will be stolen! Equip yourself. And beware! Get yourself some device (soft- or hardware) to sniff what is going on your devices.

Sort:

Resteeming for the good points, but also for the great talk by McAfee.

Highly appreciated. John McAfee is controversial but honest.

Indeed he is. If you want future resteems for these sorts of posts, you can use the tag "coagorism" and get them guaranteed from me. =)

I would add use a password manager... on windows you can use the two channel setting on KeePass 99% of key logging cannot read this method.

Thanks. I would highly appreciate you post exact instructions: How to...

I don't wish to steal my friends thunder.... if you follow @will-richards he plans to do a whole video tutorial series on passwords including keepass. He will do many other topics also including on Steem, Programming, Internet Safety, etc. We have been filming and doing test videos for it. I'll make sure he hits on two channel early into the videos.

I very much look forward to this @xiobus. Please keep me updated.

don't mean to be paranoid but how do we know that this will richards isn't a nefarious hacker recommending procedures that will leave us wide open to his attacks? doom.

That is always a good question to ask about any device. Especially large convoluted systems by mega corporations. Decide for yourself.

Whoa that's scary stuff.

Moving adult content to a single device that is not used for accessing accounts is a major simple to follow option.

i am worried about scams and am careful but like you say i may already be keylogged and they wait for more money or info or the right time -- good post
