Velpuri, the best Street food
Today I'm going to tell about another Street food and it is called Velpuri here in Bangladesh. For this blog I also wanna take participate in <Street food>Contest arranged by @tasteem.
Velpuri is a common Street food in Bangladesh. You can see the food court of velpuri everywhere. Especially in front of any market, school, college and etc. Its a cheap and famouse street food. But their taste is very rich.
I like the velpuri of sohid er dokan.
So basically it's a crispy puri(famouse food in Bangladesh, Pakistan & India made with flour). They made the puri for velpuri in the same way but they fry it deeply to make it crispy. They serve this puri with a filling. At first they tear out the middle portion of the puri then they filled it with a spicy fillings.
They made the filling with
1.massed boiled pulse
2.massed potato
3coriander
4Various Spices
5lemon slice and juice
They mix these things and filled the puri with it.
At the time of serving they serve it withtamarind juice. This juice add an extra sourness in this dish. You can fell the spices with sourness at the same time. That's why I like this food so much.And lastly they garnished it with thin slice of cucumber and carrot.This gives a refreshing effect on the dish.
They can be found in foodcourt. They make it very hygienically. Cause most of the students love to eat it daily after their classes. So its a matter of health issue of the young generation.
On every plate they give 5 puri and it cost's $0.25 (20taka). So its clear that it's so cheap at price but rich at taste.
Beside the road they also have chairs to seat and eat.
You can also takaway the velpuri. They will give it a polythene bag.
