My introduction - a pessimist
Hello,
I'm just curious what happens on this platform. This is why I registered. I feel like people are really eager to share stuff to others. But does that really matter to them ? Does it bring a benefit to their life ? Or they are doing it just for the money ? Do the people really appreciate the stuff they see on this website for the content or they do it just for the sake of interaction.
I'm a computer programmer. I work in a small company at the moment. However, even if I am active in the technology field I feel all this technology is affecting our behavior and we tend to forget about other important stuff such as the environment (our planet).
Look for example at cryptocurrency. Everybody is getting enthusiastic about it. But are we in the cryto train because we do really care about the future of transactions ? Or we just hope to get a good exit, retire and become a crypto millionaire ? Such cases are just exception never to come true. Are they really safer ? I feel they are more dangerous than everything and they are used only by those to do more harm than good such as hackers, dark web sellers and so on. Also I wonder how much damage have we done to the environment by mining our dear cryptocoins ?
In my language we have a saying:
Money is the eye of the devil
I'm not a religious type. But money and financial rewards do nothing more than move us away from our true life's purpose. We fail to concentrate on the things that really matter in life and then we die full of regrets.

I was very skeptical when I first heard of this site as well, I don't have a lot of crypto currency knowledge and so immediately reverted to an old school way of thinking. If it's too good to be true then it probably is, but after doing a bit of research I feel as though there is potential for a lot of good to come out of this economy. There's always going to be people out there just in it for the money but I think over time those that have a true passion for sharing self created content will be the successful ones. It will be interesting to see how things develop over time. Never the less, Welcome to Steemit!
