Steemit Vision Quest Week 3 - "Angels Among Us"

in #svq6 years ago

In a world so corrupt
A time so wild
When people don’t even try
To show a bit of care

When there is no love
No Bit of tenderness to share
When we not watching out for ourselves
And we don’t seem to care

When children starve to death
And bombs fly over head
And women are left to fend
And we don’t seem to care

Came a man who decided to share
Cheese and a loaf of bread
With a dying boy and his friend
There is a man who seem to care

The man went down the road
Saw a boy shivering in the cold
And gave him his coat
There is a man who seem to care

The man got across the street
In the dark to a place that wasn’t lit
There he took a hit
And there died the man that cared

I wrote this poem to serve has an awareness to the world so we can appreciate our unseen heroes. People who spend their days making other people more comfortable and easing their pains. Some of them tend to lose their lives and they are never recognized that was why the angelic character was killed at the end of the poem.
I hope this will enable more people to show love and appreciate people who defy all odds to help people in need.

Nice poem, thank you. It's true there is so much suffering in the world, and it feels vital to see that, and also to see the protective angels here, and to see the possibility that we are those protective angels. Yes, there's a powerful message in this poem. I also appreciate the way you've articulated your intentions with this Vision.

Thank you for this emotionally-stirring entry in the Steemit Vision Quest.

Wishing you a brilliant and beautiful future.

The pleasure is all mine. Thanks for creating the platform

That was awesome. My husband is one of those... he has been a paramedic and is now an RN. He literally saves lives as a matter of routine, and he is not even allowed to do a steemit post about the lives he saves - HIPPA violation. :)

Thats the world we life in
Let him know he is a hero even though the world doesnt know his name.
His achievement are the people he saved and thats what matters.... spread a little love in the world

This is a heavy read, but a beautiful piece, and a tragically real and honest one.
Thank you.

Thanks alot. I appreciate your comments
