Summer holiday in my hometown

Well, I just arrived Hanoi after my holiday in my hometown Nghe An province located around 300 kilometers from Hanoi - the capital city of Vietnam. I spent almost 10 days staying in my hometown to enjoy this summer vacation. Actually, I just wanted to visit my parents so I didn't travel so much, just go around my town. For me, it's enough because I found it incredibly peaceful, unlike Hanoi which is almost always noisy and chaotic. And, I would like to tell you about my summer vacation in this post.

First, after the finals at school, I took a bus to a coach station which is over 10 kilometers from my building.

It's quite frustrating on the bus because it took over an hour to arrive the coach station. However, I was still very exciting because I was coming home. :)

After over an hour, finally, I arrived the station and got on a coach traveling to my hometown.

As usual, I called my mom to tell her that I was on the coach.

Then I slept all night because I had nothing to do. :D The coach arrived in front of my house at about 3 a.m. I called my father to open the door for me. "Welcome back home, son." He said. After that, I enter my room and continue sleeping until the morning. :) And, this is my breakfast at the first day at home.

My mom is the owner of an eating house. This is my favorite. I mean drink, not food. I just think I can't find other kinds of tea that are more delicious than this one. It's simply invincible.

The day after, I attended a little party. It's kinda popular in the countryside when people feed animals like pigs then harvest and invite neighbors to come over.

LOL. It was a blast. You know, drinking alcohol is unavoidable in my hometown. I think it's also common in other parts of Vietnam.

During my vacation, I was really happy to attend my cousin's birthday. I bought this cake for her as a present. She was pink tickled. :)

She looks so cute. Right? :D But she is a naughty girl. :D

One thing that I should add is that I'm a dog lover. I was excited to play with them. My pets were like a dog with two tails when they saw me. :D

He's doing exercise. I gotta say he's very loyal and courageous. :D

My hometown is surrounded by a river. In summer, people often go there to bathe. The water is really cool. I did join them. I really like it though I don't swim very well. :)

Children are really good at swimming here. Maybe they practice a lot in the river.

It's very peaceful here. At that time, I just sit down to enjoy the view and see how the locals work.

After bathing, of course we had to take a shower again. :)) Then we had a small party and gather together in my uncle's house. Happiness is sometimes simple like that when having dinner with relatives!

This time, of course, I drink alcohol but not a lot. T_T

There were not many dishes but I still found them very delicious and familiar.

My uncle's house is a typical house in the countryside. It's large but no beautiful, just simple.

I had some times going to an entertainment area which is located in the center of the town. There are a lot of people going there to unwind in the evenings. I met my friend there. He's currently an English teacher in a center in my town. He's from South-Africa. Everytime I visit my hometown, I meet and talk to him a lot in the evenings.

As usual, I ordered my drink of choice - Milk tea. But it's not good as I expected. I prefer in Cong cafe in Hanoi. :D

It's overcrowded sometimes. I think it's because this is the only noisy place in the town.

There are some vending machines and some shops offering food and drinks in the area.

This time, we attended our ancestors' death anniversary.

All my relatives are here. It's around 25 people, I guess.

The next day, I went to a restaurant with my father and had breakfast there. We had the dish bún riêu cua which is Vietnamese noodles in crab chowder.

*It's really yummy. One again, I'm into that delicious cup of tea. *

In this sweltering, what should we do to cool ourselves? The answer is going to the beach, of course. That's why we decided to go to Cua Lo beach together though these days it's overcrowded there.

It was too crowded that we couldn't have enough space to swim.

After bathing, we went to a nearby seafood restaurant to have dinner. The restaurant served many different dishes with cheap price. Because its location is very near from the beach, it welcomes hundreds of guests every day. I had visited Cua Lo beach several times, but that was the first time I had eaten in that restaurant. This time, my uncle took us to Cua Lo beach and he recommended us to come here to dig in because my uncle is a regular of the restaurant.

The food there is very delicious. I have to say I'm a big fan of seafood, so I ate a lot. The price of the food is also affordable.

As you can see, there are many seafood dishes in this picture including : Shrimps, Crabs, Squids, fish, octopus, etc.

I couldn't imagine that I ate 2 big crabs and a lot of other seafood. I was so full @@!

The last days, I was pushed to enjoy other parties in my relative's house and my neghbor's house. It was an absolute blast! I drunk very much.

This is my favorite. I dare you to find this in other place, even in Hanoi. It's out of this world.

Have you heard of "Bun cha"? This is what it is in my hometown. I find it more delicious than in Hanoi. It looks so different. Right? The ingredients are incredibly fresh !

My last dinner at home. This chicken soup is the best. It's only in Nghe An. It's phenomenal ! :D
