Flowering time for the Jade plants

in #succulents8 years ago

There are many Jade trees growing outside at my place and I have a few in pots This time of year, they all start flowering, except my Crassula gollum. In the 7 or 8 years I have had it, it hasn't ever flowered.

These are the flowers of Crassula Jade

This one is a cultivar called Hummel's Sunset

The flowers on the Silver Dollar haven't opened yet but they are white in the centre with pale pink petals

I wonder why the Gollum doesn't want to give me flowers, it seems happy enough

I love that you give the names of the various jade plants. I didn't know that there was more than one variety. I used to have a jade plant and it never flowered but it was lost when my house was gutted by a fire.

Most plants and especially succulents, have been bred and bred by various nurserymen until there are many cultivars, which are just variations of a single species. There are so many more than the ones I have

Very beautiful photos of white flowers. Such gentle and warm. I really liked.

Thank you

Photos are very good. Especially the first two of them. Nice work :)

So beautiful!

Aren't they? Jades are really easy to grow, as well

Wow. Just found your blog. I love succulents. This flower is so pretty

I have plenty more posts about succulents, past and upcoming. Enjoy!

It's fascinating how plants grow differently in different parts of the world. I say that because you used the word "trees," to describe something we never get to describe as more than "plant."

Here in the US Pacific Northwest, a Jade plant in a pot might make it to about 18-24 inches (45-60cm) and then you've done an amazing job and have an ancient plant. Even when our family lived in the hot climate of Texas, coaxing a Jade plant beyond about 3 feet (90cm) was a major accomplishment.

Anyway, love seeing all your plant posts!

=^..^=

Jades do well in their native habitat and are big sun-lovers. Here, they generally only become about 1m tall and then they tend to fall over, because the root system is shallow and they become very heavy. I have a few of those, too

These flowers are so pretty. Its so strange how you can have many similar types of plants, and most will flower and do well and then there's that one that just doesn't, and you just wish you knew why.

It grows profusely, just doesn't ever flower. And the cats have trashed it a couple of times :(

Very beautiful photos! I really like this about the plant. I have They 3. For some reason before, I have several such Crassula died ...
It seems that everything was right.
We call this Crassula "money tree". It is believed that she brings money and prosperity to the house!

Crassula can rot quite easily from the roots or the base of the stem. Make sure that the soil drains very well. They don't mind regular watering, but they don't want to sit in it

Awesome post!! Keep it up and check out THIS POST as well as I have something similar.
