What I call a Sublime Weekend: My Birthday!

Lo que llamo un “Fin de semana Sublime”: ¡Mi cumpleaños!

Feliz Lunes para todos mis seguidores y para todos los nuevos Steemians que se han unido hoy a nuestra comunidad.

Today I want to tell you what, for me, this was the best weekend until now as I celebrated my Birthday # 29. I enjoyed the best days I’ve ever had during this year, so I want to share with you what I did ‘cause I feel it deserves to be shared with you, fellow Steemians.

Hoy quiero contarles que, para mí, este fue el mejor fin de semana hasta ahora ya que celebré mi cumpleaños # 29. Disfruté los mejores días que he tenido durante este año, así que ahora quiero compartir con ustedes lo que hice porque siento que merece ser compartir con ustedes, compañeros Steemians.

My birthday (last Saturday) started at 6am. My wife had a surprise for me: a brownie with a candle along with a birthday song and a PowerPoint slide with such a beautiful message that made me cry (for real) as this message contained some beautiful pics (including some photos of my upcoming baby’s echography) and her words touched my heart. Amazing way to start this day!

*Mi cumpleaños (el sábado pasado) empezó a las 6am. Mi esposa tenía una sorpresa para mí: un brownie con una vela junto con una canción de cumpleaños, y una presentación de PowerPoint con un mensaje tan bello que me hizo llorar (de verdad) ya que el mensaje tenía unas fotos muy bellas (incluyendo algunas de la ecografía de mi bebé que está en camino) y sus palabras me tocaron el corazón. ¡Increíble forma de empezar el día!

After that, at 8 am, my wife prepared me a very delicious breakfast: pancakes, scrambled eggs, papaya and coffee with milk. It was so good that it disappeared in 2 minutes hehehe.

Después de eso, a las 8 am, mi esposa me preparó un desayuno muy delicioso: panqueques, huevos revueltos, papaya y café con leche. Estaba tan bueno, que desapareció en 2 minutos hehehe.

Then, we had a very relaxing day at home (fortunately, I didn’t have to work that day) and had a good lunch. After lunch, we took a long nap (we love sleeping as much as we can) and then we got ready for going to my mom’s house ‘cause it’s a habit that she invites me to have dinner and birthday cake there.

Luego, tuvimos un día muy relajante en casa (afortunadamente, no tenía que trabajar ese día) y tuvimos un buen almuerzo. Después del almuerzo, tomamos una larga siesta (nos encanta dormir tanto como podamos) y después nos alistamos para ir a casa de mi mamá porque es una costumbre que ella me invite a cenar y a comer pastel de cumpleaños allá.

9pm, we finally got mom’s home and the dinner was about to be served. My mom has always been talented for cooking and every time we go there, she cooks the best food for us. For celebrating my birthday, she cooked rice, potatoes, salad (carrot and zucchini) and stuffed chicken breast with spinach and double-cream cheese. This magnificent dinner was accompanied with a delicious red wine.

9pm, finalmente llegamos a la casa de mi mamá y la cena estaba a punto de ser servida. Mi mamá siempre ha tenido talento para la cocina y cada vez que vamos allá, nos cocina la mejor comida. Para celebrar mi cumpleaños, ella cocinó arroz, papas, ensalada (zanahoria y calabacín) y pechuga de pollo rellena con espinaca y quedo doble crema. Esta magnífica cena estuvo acompañada con un delicioso vino tinto.

The surprise for this year was the birthday cake. We used to buy the birthday cake at a bread store but this time my mom decided to cook an apple cake. She had never tried to cook it before, so that was a real surprise because it was so tasty that we ate it very quickly. It was accompanied with red wine too, so the mix was spectacular!

*La sorpresa para este año fue el pastel de cumpleaños. Solíamos comprar el pastel en una panadería, pero esta vez mi mamá decidió hacer una torta de manzana. Ella nunca había intentado hacerla antes, así que fue una gran sorpresa porque estaba tan sabrosa que la comimos muy rápido. También fue acompañada con vino tinto, así que ¡la combinación fue espectacular!

The best part of it was having a good talk with everybody at home (my mom, my brother, my wife and me). It was about to be 3am when we stopped talking ‘cause it was time to go to bed. Yesterday we were all day along at mom’s home (we had lunch and dinner there). My wife and I left her home at 8:30pm and finally we got our home 1 hour later.

La mejor parte fue tener una charla agradable con todos en casa (mi mamá, mi hermano, mi esposa y yo). Iban a ser las 3am cuando dejamos de hablar ya que era hora de ir a dormir. Ayer estuvimos todo el día en casa de mi mamá (almorzamos y cenamos allá). Mi esposa y yo nos fuimos de su casa a las 8:30pm y finalmente llegamos a nuestro hogar 1 hora después.

Definitely, the best moments of life are those where you can share some words, laughing, food, moments, advices or even a drink, everything you want with your family. I don’t care if I don’t receive any gift for my birthday, what I appreciate the most is having time with my entire family and knowing they give me the best of them. That’s the best birthday gift I could ever receive.

Definitivamente, los mejores momentos de la vida son aquellos donde puedes compartir palabras, risas, comida, momentos, consejos o incluso una bebida, todo lo que quieras con tu familia. No me importa si no recibo ningún regalo para mi cumpleaños, lo que más aprecio es tener tiempo con mi familia y saber que me dan lo mejor de sí. Ese es el mejor regalo que pudiese recibir en la vida.

That’s all I wanted to tell you today, I really had a great birthday and I hope celebrating more days like this. Like my teacher @txatxy helped me see in past days: this spring has brought something very important and it’s not about flowers, but a new year for living and more experiences to come.

Eso es todo lo que quería contarles hoy, realmente tuve una gran cumpleaños y espero celebrar más días como este. Como mi profe @txatxy me ayudó a ver en días pasados: esta primavera ha traído algo muy importante y no se trata de flores, sino de un nuevo año para vivir y más experiencias por venir.
