A most magical psybient and chillout album of the meditative sort, Man of No Ego's "Blinkers Removed" is a timeless journey into calmness and our inner world of the human spirit.

It was recommended to me by a friend I met at a psy festival years ago, and I still find the album incredibly valuable to have in my life, especially when I feel overwhelmed with a situation or when my mind is giving me a tough time. This music always manages to calm me down.

The album blends magnificent synth landscapes, deep beats and guitars into a marvellous sound journey of warmth and ease. The dynamic range is incredibly satisfying, the album breathes like a conscious being and we travel from silence to moments of full immersion constantly.

"Blinkers Removed" features quotes by the controversial spiritual figure Osho that underscore the non-hangup message of the soundscapes we encounter. And while I have never been a great Osho fan, I have found myself in several situations since first discovering this album where his quotes really drove the point home for me and I found a way to relax my anxieties and tensions.

Relating to the words spoken thus becomes entirely dependent on my attitude of the day, while the words stay the same. His voice will further help the calmness of the mind, especially if you find you want to meditate but can't quite let go of obsessing over your thoughts: Listening to a calm voice talk about the limited nature of the ego can be quite the permission slip to let go of our attachments - if only for the time being.
