A Dream Sequence (part 4)
"Don't act so surprised" spoke a street lamp
She did her best to obey, and not out of fear or reverence. A part of her understood exactly where she was.
"You stumble in here from time to time, and you always seem to forget about it afterwards. You humans often do."
The street lamp flickered as it spoke to her. It did not speak with a voice but with feeling. She struggled to reply in a similar way.
"Why do we forget?" She might have said.
There was no reply. The street lamp flickered one last time and returned to a dormant state.
