It was as if they were one instrument. Each one synced. The five person band never played so well together. It was weeks of missed notes and late night arguments. But not today. Sam's fingers pulled and controlled the cords like strings on a puppet. Dave was hitting note ranges he didn't knew he could. And the drummer, Maxwell, held it all together with a passionate beat that echoed through-out the studio. This was it. This was going to be their recording that was going to be on the radio. Their first hit. The one that launched them.

But then the bassist stopped playing

"What the fuck?" the singer said as he turned around. "That was perfect, we had five seconds left."

"You don't hear that?"

"Our bassist, no I don't hear that."

"Stop being a dick for a second and listen."

They all lowered their instruments. At first they heard nothing. Then there was a slight buzzing. It didn't sound organic. There was a metallic hum to it. They all looked up. Above them was a tiny drone. It had a mic and a camera attached to it. The guitarist swung his instrument to catch it. But the drone took a quick left. Then it took a right out the window. Everyone looked at each other.

"What was that?"

"Maybe a fan?"

"We haven't released any songs yet."

They all shrugged. Then they picked up their instruments to start playing again. But then there was a beep on one of their phones. Then another. They all pulled out their cell phones. It was a message from a friend who heard their song on social media. It was going viral. It was making a fortune.

"That's our song?"

"How could somebody else be making money on our content?"

It was a good question. One they didn't have an answer for.
