Wow that is awesome that you actually have a picture of a teacher from that long ago. I don't think I have any except for small yearbook photos.
Well Madame Coquart had been a teacher (French, Latin, ancient Greek and Russian), but at Balzac she was no longer teaching. She had enough work as the principal of a high school with 3,000 students.
I found her picture while researching the story of the lycée Honoré de Balzac. See the source under the picture.
